A question ...

(As a sidenote, I already ordered the red CNY one earlier this week, SA handling the timing so that I can get PCE on it ..... but this question "might" be more relevant for the turnlock ones, if the turnlock one is indeed a little smaller? ... Actually, an answer on either of the wallets would probably be close enough.)

From what I can tell, there are slots for five cards (of credit card size), yes?
So first, put a card in each one of those five slots.
Now, my question is, can you also put, say, two more cards in each of the two gusseted pockets, and still close the wallet without straining it? So I mean five cards in the slots, then two more "sitting loose" in each of the two gusseted pockets.

My concern is the space that the leather folds ... ie. the leather "gussets" take up when the wallet closes. Sometimes, the leather folds take up so much room ("thickness"), that if you put a couple cards in those pockets too, the wallet can't handle it.

(Hope that makes sense.)

There are only two slots on each side & I put one card in each. One side I have 4 hard cards & 1 paper card in the gusset area. You can see it does fold in, but just a little thicker. I put a few store loyalty cards in the front pocket. I guess you could put a small receipt or a $ bill or two. It's kind of a tight fit with all this and I left a few less used cards out that I had no problem keeping in my favorite purple zip around.

So I see the equivalent of about 9 cards, and from my comparison last night I have equivalent thickness of 12. :thinkin: I need to get in that store and try it.

See, I do sometimes use a Coach mini-wallet (the bi-fold style with a snap), with a few lesser used cards in an additional mini-skinny. .... If I could get all of it into *this* wallet, then this would be a smaller total volume than the mini-wallet--plus--mini-skinny combo. .... I'm slowly starting to dislike gussets. You run into the same problem with the LV coin cases ... plastic cards never seem to fit lengthwise *between the gussets*, so then the folds of leather end up adding additional thickness on top of the cards. :-/

Thank you ... I can't rush into a second one, I see that. I need to try it in the store. :thinkin:

I would say that if going to a store is not a travel hardship then Def go & try the wallet with all of your cards. I was about to order this offline without seeing it first & was going to order the Fog/gold. I'm glad I saw it first because that color combo was soooo boring in person to me.
I could separate the cards in the gusseted middle instead of having them all on one side but they are all ID related so I tend to keep them all next to each other. Also, I have nothing in the zippered change area and it's still a little snug to close the wallet.. might loosen up as the leather breaks in.

I hope you can go see the wallets and make a solid decision that works for you!

I was in Macy's yesterday hoping to see this compact wallet in person. I wandered around the department for about 15 minutes and couldn't find a SA. Finally found the wallet in a locked case (of course) and then I found a SA talking on the phone so stood in front of her for about two minutes waiting until she figured out her associates lunch schedule (these things are important you know!)
So I stepped away to look at another Coach bag so that she wouldn't feel I was listening in on her "important" conversation and mistakenly thinking she would approach me when she hung up........she didn't, instead she walked away without a word or glance in my direction.

Now I see why people prefer to shop online:rant:

I love this wallet too and just did a pre sale in my FP Coach store to pick up with the PCE on Friday. It's much smaller than the wallet I have been using but I'm hoping it makes me scale down. Just wondering where you put your cash? I thought about the zipped area but I can see money getting stuck in the zipper. Thinking of keeping license, ID and health cards in there. What has been the best way you have found to organize in it? I bought the taupe and pink color combination and can't wait to pick it up n Friday. Wish I had a Rogue to pop it in, sigh maybe some day. For now I'm so thankful I can live vicariously through all of you!

I get that kind of experience all the time!

Quite frustrating isn't it? It's why I decided to go another route and purchase this little gem pre-loved. It has all the features I need plus I can leave my bills unfolded.
I love the Legacy stripes inside the kisslock coin pouch as well:graucho:
Spiff her up with some conditioner and she'll be ready to go!

Nice, why didn't I do that instead of buying the new one? already have this! Must shop my closet!

Well, I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason so I guess the SA ignored me because the universe was steering me towards this little beauty.
Admittedly I've been away from Coach for a good many years and have recently become interested again. I've missed a ton of their popular lines that were introduced such as Legacy, Sonoma, etc. so most of it is "new" to me.
I'm lucky I love vintage/pre-loved! Not to mention the price I paid was less than 1/3 of the compact charm case.

Wallets can be trickier to buy pre-loved (IMO) because they can get a ton of use and sometimes they just look thrashed. This little one has that wonderful thick leather that gets better with age and the inside is pale pink (bonus!) and looks clean. It will easily fit into all of my bags, big or small so that I don't have to change wallets. I don't enjoy doing that!

Enjoy your compact charm case, it IS adorable and seems like a very functional piece.
