I just got some bad news and right now am feeling like I want to just hide away until the whole thing blows over. At the same time I need to think about my outfit for tomorrow as I'm heading to another town for a client meeting. Considering the situation, I feel like I want to wear something super comforting (like jeans, my favorite sweater and Converse) instead of the inevitable black trousers, white top and high heels that aren't very comforting or ideal to give me that "everything will be okay" feeling...
My bag on the other hand - that can be anything I want it to be. Right now, I think I need to carry something that's as reassuring and comforting as Mom's raspberry jam. That something might be my black croc print DvF Voyage tote. It always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I carry it; like everything was okay and under control. It's a fuss-free bag that doesn't give me a hard time.

Do you have a "comfort bag" - a bag that makes you feel better about things when you carry it? Is there a bag that has made you feel like this that no longer is in your collection? Please do feel welcome to share a pic of your comfort bag!

I don't have a comfort bag but I do have a comfort sweater so felt like chiming in.
I wear the sweater and it makes me comforted and happy. When nobody is looking ,I smell it. I'm not sure why I do that but it makes me feel better. It's washed the same way as my other clothes but for some reason it always smells comforting. ( I'm fully aware of how weird that sounds)
This sweater is now so worn out that I can really only wear it on the weekends because it's stretched and damn near see through from being washed ( and smelled) so often. Lol!
I would never admit this IRL but since I'm on an anonymous forum ,I might as well be honest. Lol

Lots of soft texture, to pat & smoosh against side.
Shoulder strap & top handle carry choices.
Gorgeous natural button, to fiddle in fingers & study.
Casual design, still mildly sophisticated.

Also enjoy good dose of bag charm, when day needs lift.

I don't know if I have a comfort bag. My comfort items are my slippers and cozy sweats. Anything really soft. I have lots of soft tees and sweaters that I wear for when I need extra comfort, which is most of the time!

The bags that I wear when I am stressed, are medium sized so everything fits without rearranging and fit comfortably on my shoulder. Usually a hobo in suede or pebbled leather. Pebbled leather because it is worry-free, suede because I like petting it. One of my suede bags has a fur puff hanging on it and I pet that all day long.

Back when I was dancing (Ballroom) I always had a pair of dancing shoes in my bag because I often went to practice after work. So I am still focused on bags that do fit a pair of dancing shoes even if I am not dancing anymore. It is this feeling of being another person besides this stressed working woman...
I can relate to this, for a long time I also carried huge bags just because I was used to carrying my volleyball gear with me 5 days a week. A few years ago I actually started buying bags that don't have a ton of extra space.

Structured bags work best for me, but for comfort, some softness is key. So I think I’d use my BV Chain tote and feel the lining for extra comfort!
I think soft BV leather is probably exactly what the doctor would order! I wonder if my medical insurance would cover a BV hobo?!
Givenchy Pandora. Even just looking at it gives me joy.
What an easy pick-me-up, and one you get to carry it with you all day as well. A thing of beauty is a joy forever, as Keats once said.

Mmmmm suede. That's one thing I seem to avoid when it comes to bags (because suede is supposedly high maintenance) but I have no problem wearing suede shoes. Lord knows where that logic comes from but it's something that's stuck in my head... Love the pompom, looks really lush and lovely!
