Colour dilemma

So, I actually adore that color. I think the color and slight sheen can be dressed up or down. If it were any shinier, I would have to but it firmly in the dressier camp, but I find a soft sheen to be very versatile. One of my favorite bags ever had a soft sheen like that and I wore it everywhere.

The color, in my opinion is gorgeous and super versatile. You could wear it with black, white, grey/silver, yellows, many pinks, most purples, blues, etc. This is me, but I could wear it with almost everything in my closet and I have a lot of color. The only thing I couldn't see it with would be maybe warm whites (beige, khaki, etc.). But I'd have to see it in person to be sure.

As far as style, I think the Lady Dior shape and size lend itself to looking more formal, but I do think that styles are more relaxed now than "back in the day" and people can successfully mix styles and colors so much more freely than they used to. I personally would wear that bag with business wear, dinners out, fancy-shopping (you know, how you dress up when you want SAs to pay attention to you), and literally with jeans and a sweater. Yes I would. Jeans and a sweater. Come at me, I don't care. I love that bag and would wear it with anything other than leisure wear.

I saw a youtube video on this very bag and it looks amazing. I'll put the link below. I haven't watched the whole video yet (it's 20 minutes long) but I will later, because not gonna lie, this might be the bag that actually makes me change my mind about spending +$1K on a bag. Ordinarily I would rather put that kind of money elsewhere, but I really love this one. I'll have to think about it.

But back to you (sorry - a little selfish digression there) do your clothes work with it? What do you think?

Glad to hear that someone likes the colour too! Haha i did like it at the store so I don't know wby I am second guessing myself.

I saw that video actually haha I think I watched all the Lady Dior videos on youtube!!

In terms of clothes, I think probably white, black maybe some pastel colours? I need to think about this more!!

of course common sense precautionary measures should be taken e.g. don't rub against jeans, don't bring to crowded places where it gets knocked around, avoid getting it wet etc.

all boils down to personal preference but i think the blush will age better.

I agree with you regarding the aging...another thing for me to consider!

Would you be getting both or exchanging the Lotus Pink for the Blush (or other color)? Just curious (aka nosy ).

haha not nosy at all! I will have to go to the boutique to look at the colours but kind of thinking of keeping my bag and getting the blush in a different size maybe small size?

Hahaha. You're as bad as me. I've been collecting handbags for a LONG time. I have too many bags. Some get rotated, some stay in the closet forever. Which is why one of my resolutions this year is to trim my collection.

BUT if you're really drawn to this LadyDior, and you'll miss it if you exchange/ return. Then keep it.

Haha thanks! I really should trim my collection too but can't seem to let go.... and I keep adding new babies.
I think it is also the fact that Lotus only comes in a mini size (and apparently, medium but not really interested in that size)... anyway will check out a few bags and see how I go.

I'm rooting for the gorgeous Lotus Pink but if for financial/practicality reasons you have to return it, obviously you have to do what you have to do. If you do have the option of keeping it and getting another, then hey! That's awesome too! lol

I agree with you that the medium size in the Lotus Pink would be less amazing than the mini size. I'm kind of sad that they don't make it in the small size because that's the one I would have wanted I think.

The mini in that color though. Just makes my heart happy.

I have the small (ABC) Lady Dior in the light pink color, and I love it! I'm not sure if it's the exact same color, but it looks pretty close based on the picture you posted. It is actually a lot less delicate than I thought. the handle inevitably will get scratches, but otherwise, I haven't see any color transfers yet. I am very careful with my bags, so that might be a reason. The beauty of the color and the bag makes being extra careful worth it, if that makes sense. My mom is not into luxury bags at all, but the Lady Dior in pink is THE ONE bag that she always compliments on when she sees it. Hope this helps a bit!

Haha so I went to Dior yesterday and checked out some colours:
- blush was ok but didn't love it. It is a very warm pink with a bit pf brown to it. My complexion is pale, cool tone actually so I didn't think it suited me.
- the SA showed me a new pink colour called anitque pink.It looks very similar to blush where I almost got confused. But he said it was a new colour. It was even more brown than blush so a pass.
- he also showed me a lighter tone of pink, more pink colour called pink but it was in djoy style and doesn't come in Lady Dior style. It was the nicest lighter pink but i wanted Lady Dior as my first bag from Dior.

Anyway, so I ended up keeping my bag and added a mitzah to it. I really really like the djoy bag in white small size but it is sold out. I will probably get tbat as my next bag but not now....need to pace myself haha I have fallen hard for Dior tho!

It is hard to tell from this stock pic. But I think it is a different pink based on the name.

The bag I saw was just pink according to the SA and it was lighter than antique pink which I saw on a Lady Dior.

Also, the Djoy bag that i saw did not have black hw it was just the usual champagne hw.

The bag I saw was just pink according to the SA and it was lighter than antique pink which I saw on a Lady Dior.

Also, the Djoy bag that i saw did not have black hw it was just the usual champagne hw.

I love the mini Lady Dior in the lotus pink, it matches the asthetics of the bag. The other colour I would go for for the mini Lady Dior is the black with silver hardware. The combination of the black lambskin and the cool-toned silver hardware, IMO, is to die for.

Metallic leathers are finished with an iridescent/pearlescent finish, which rubs off in areas where there is a lot of contact (like the handles, which is worsened when lotions are used on the hands) and friction (like the back of the bag). After it has been rubbed off, it cannot be repaired since a reapplication of the waxes that created the effect will not look even.

Non-metallic lambskin may be re-dyed, although depending on how it is done, it can change the look of the leather and make it feel a lot less supple. Ask Dior if they can re-dye certain colours should your bag start showing wear and tear, before making your decision.
