Hi, just purchased my first Lady Dior in mini size, Lotus pink colour.

The colour is pretty kind of pink, lavender silvery but seriously having second thoughts. Shall I exchange for black?

I already have 2 chanel black mini bags which is why I didn't want to buy another black mini bag but now... I feel this lambskin lotus pink is very fragile. However, someone told me that lotus pink is a hard to find colour, is this actually true? Shall I keep and buy a black one later? Do I really need 2 mini Lady Dior... ?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Do you need a third bag of the same type and color? No. Definitely not. Not unless you have so much money that it doesn't matter what you do with it. If that's the case, keep the pink one anyway. But I suspect that it is not the case or you wouldn't be second-guessing the purchase of the pink bag.

I like the lighter colors like the lotus pink because they better highlight the quilting that is such a major part of the design. My opinion is that if the pink works with your wardrobe and is a functional size for you, then keep it. Or at least return it and get a different color if it doesn't work for what you wear, but not a repeat of something you already have 2 of.

The lotus color to me seems purplish, depends on your wardrobe but I find pearly/iridescent colors are dressy so if that’s your style then go for it! If you’re looking for more of an understatement then go for the non pearly pink/neutral Dior since you already have two black bags.

I am not rich by any means haha I guess that is why I didn’t select the black bag in the first place.

Interesting that you mention the quilting being highlighted on a lighter coloured bag. I never thought about that but think you are absolutely right! I am kind of inclined to keep my bag now haha I think I am just afraid of light coloured bags but need to be more adventurous.

You are right! The colour is more purple/lavender than pink. I love being dressy too but don’t get many opportunities to go out tbh.

I actually didn’t get to see the blush colour or antique pink colour at the boutique. I might take a look and see how I feel about them.

I'm personally not a fan of lotus pink but if you like the colour but are just afraid of light coloured bags, don't think you need to be very concerned. I've a few light(er) coloured lady diors and they have held up fine.

If you're not sold on the lotus pink colour, you can consider other (non-black) colour options. The blush you mentioned in your other post is a lovely colour. Agree with the above views that there doesn't seem much of a point getting a third black bag in a similar size/style, especially given dior has many lovely colours.

I would factor in usage. How many times a week/ month will you use this color for? Are you getting enough bang for your money.

I'm all for going for a pop of color, but my pop of color has always been some sort of red or pink, or fuchsia. And I use these colors quite a bit. They work well with my wardrobe.

No. I would not personally go for the Lotus Pink color, but if it works for you and your wardrobe, then definitely keep!

I would also consider beige and white. I like these two colors as well.

So, I actually adore that color. I think the color and slight sheen can be dressed up or down. If it were any shinier, I would have to but it firmly in the dressier camp, but I find a soft sheen to be very versatile. One of my favorite bags ever had a soft sheen like that and I wore it everywhere.

The color, in my opinion is gorgeous and super versatile. You could wear it with black, white, grey/silver, yellows, many pinks, most purples, blues, etc. This is me, but I could wear it with almost everything in my closet and I have a lot of color. The only thing I couldn't see it with would be maybe warm whites (beige, khaki, etc.). But I'd have to see it in person to be sure.

As far as style, I think the Lady Dior shape and size lend itself to looking more formal, but I do think that styles are more relaxed now than "back in the day" and people can successfully mix styles and colors so much more freely than they used to. I personally would wear that bag with business wear, dinners out, fancy-shopping (you know, how you dress up when you want SAs to pay attention to you), and literally with jeans and a sweater. Yes I would. Jeans and a sweater. Come at me, I don't care. I love that bag and would wear it with anything other than leisure wear.

I saw a youtube video on this very bag and it looks amazing. I'll put the link below. I haven't watched the whole video yet (it's 20 minutes long) but I will later, because not gonna lie, this might be the bag that actually makes me change my mind about spending +$1K on a bag. Ordinarily I would rather put that kind of money elsewhere, but I really love this one. I'll have to think about it.

But back to you (sorry - a little selfish digression there) do your clothes work with it? What do you think?

And def need to see this blush colour to compare...seems like a v pretty colour!

of course common sense precautionary measures should be taken e.g. don't rub against jeans, don't bring to crowded places where it gets knocked around, avoid getting it wet etc.

all boils down to personal preference but i think the blush will age better.

Would you be getting both or exchanging the Lotus Pink for the Blush (or other color)? Just curious (aka nosy :P ).

Ahhh...usage!!
Brutally honest, I will not use it often maybe once a month? The truth is my daily bag is a le pliage bag and I have about a dozen Chanel, Hermes, etc sitting in my wardrobe... isn't that terrible!

I really need to use my bags more but l carry my notebook and shoes around everywhere so the large le pliage is just light and easy....

I saw the white LD...looks beautiful but never really considered a white bag! Should take another look

Hahaha. You're as bad as me. I've been collecting handbags for a LONG time. I have too many bags. Some get rotated, some stay in the closet forever. Which is why one of my resolutions this year is to trim my collection.

BUT if you're really drawn to this LadyDior, and you'll miss it if you exchange/ return. Then keep it.
