Ok so I admit every since I saw SATC I have been obsessed with getting a new bauble. At first I was ready get a David Yurman Albion ring. But then I wanted everything, ring, earring, necklace bracelet and it started to get pricey. So I stopped looking for a few weeks.

Then Nordstrom had to send me that catalog for their Anniversary Sale, and I fell in love with Jane Taylor stacking ring on page 45.

But then I checked my ol'faithful, Tiffany and saw their cocktail rings.

Any now I can't decide. I would like a cocktail ring, but to me cocktail means big and fun and inexpensive.
Any thoughts?

I love the Tiffany ring, too. It seems very versatile. I agree that cocktail rings should be big and fun, but they don't necessarily have to be inexpensive. The most expensive piece of jewelry I own is an opal and diamond cocktail ring--but it was a hand-me-down from my grandmother. Most of my cocktail rings are pretty cheap.

Really, I'd say it depends on your personal style. If you think you'd get a lot of use out of the Tiffany ring, the money is less of an issue.

The Tiffany cocktail rings are lovely! I especially love the the one in green quartz! Tiffany may be expensive but if you really love it & you think you will enjoy wearing it then it may be worth the price

I would go for the Tiffany's one as well. I fell in love the moment I saw them and had to have all three but the green quartz one is my absolute favourite!! If you can do all three I highly recommend it, you wont regret it.

I am partial to Tiffany only because they do not give me hard time about sizing.
The Nordstrom ring can be sized and the Yurman can be special ordered for an additional fee.

But I agree with finder cheaper alternatives. But I feel a trip to Tiffany in my near future.

The Tiffany one is gorgeous and will last you a lifetime. I have a large aquamarine from H Stern for a cocktail ring that is classic and timeless. I LOVE cocktail rings! They are so much fun.
That's a great price point for a quality ring, tiffany with a stone. You can be sure with that ring that the amethyst will be a deep lovely colour.
Oooo, I may have to put that one on my wishlist! I keep looking at it. :)

I have the Tiffany amethyst, (posted about it here a few months ago) and love it. I think what elevates the Tiffany ring is the cut, but I have also seen some fun rings in amethyst by other designers. I was in a local jewelry store at the mall (I have no idea what the name of the store was as it's the first time I've been there) and saw some cute designs for about half the price of the Tiffany ring.

I had not previously heard of LeVian, so I just looked at their stuff. NICE!! But it's the ones I like are priced a bit more then I would like to spend.
I am now leaning towards the Tiffany ring.

Did you post pictures? I tried searching and did not find any, but maybe I did not search right.
