Coach vs Michael Kors Totes Help Me Pick

I had thought I had my mind made up and had bought the new bleecker dots tote but my friend talked me into the saffiano love red instead....saying its leather.

I tried this on and the color is beautiful!!! It is a fabulous bag. I hope you love it. Congrats.

Coach!! Michael Kors bags are nice, and I have one, but I noticed that it wasn't the same quality as my Coach bags. The straps don't feel as sturdy and the leather isn't as nice.

Plus, as someone mentioned before Michael Kors doesn't have a very good return/guarantee policy. A friend of mine bought a Michael Kors bag and two weeks later the strap broke, and they told her at the store that was from wear and tear! I am just not as comfortable with their policies as I am with Coach's.

Coach bags are better made and more refined in craftsmanship than mk.

I agree with this. Every Mk bag I had has been sold. They never felt that great to me.

I like both, but prefer the look of the coach because it has no logo and the leather looks nicer. However, it depends what you will use it for. If your going to be putting books or a laptop in it, the MK would be a better choice.

MK has a one year policy for problems so that part really does stink. I like the sapphire MK you posted better than the Coach in terms of appearance.

You can get discounts on MK at department stores and sometimes at MK stores.

I tend to side with your friend as the Saff tote in Love Red is leather and beautiful!! Dot accessories would be awesome!!

I may be wrong on this but I think the MK is open while the Coach tote has a zip, so might be worth considering if having a zipped top is important?

Otherwise - love the colours on both bags!

I think it depends on what your using it for, the michael kors looks more casual for everyday with jeans and the coach looks more dressy to me.

When I originally got my large E/W tote I chose the Coach for sleekness and I felt it was better made. This season Coach has the one you are showing - the Madison E/W Bond Tote which in my opinion is a bit more elevated. It is also smaller in size so you can use it as a purse as well whereas I only use my large one for a work bag or day trip. I love the Love Red color.

I had a similar dilemma with the Christie Carryall vs. MK Large Jet Set Tote. I ultimately went with the MK, because I felt the saffiano was less stiff and I got it in Palm green, which I have been lusting after since last year this time. I love the tote, and don't regret 'cheating' on Coach, but I wish Coach would offer more green color options! It sort of sealed the deal for me.
