If I'd have to guess why the model is dressed the way that she is, I would say it's for practical reasons for selling the bag, not so much for fashion reasons. I think the socks are to de-emphasize the shoes; I cannot tell if they are Coach brand or not. I don't think Coach would want people calling or messaging them asking them how they could buy the shoes on the model. I think the dress is purposely larger as the majority of women do not weigh 100lbs. The point of the pic is to show proportion of the bag on a person; not clothes or shoes so I think Coach tries to distract from those factors as much as possible. I think they do a pretty good job. I never noticed these things until I came here and read all of these posts.

FWIW, I wouldn't mind at all if socks with dress heels became the fashion norm! I have the skinniest, twiggiest, ankles on the planet! LOL I'm so self conscience about this. I would love to see all women wearing this style! I am sooooo in love with caged sandals and the dress leather booties! I do thank the fashion gods and goddesses for those!

LOL, remember toe socks? Gah those things were not comfortable but you had to buy a pair when they came out! Also leg warmers and "Flashdance" cut-neck sweatshirts? Oh yeah, I wore all that stuff....

I wore it too, which is perhaps why I am not trying to make the same mistake again!!

It is a great point about noticing the bag and not everything else. I am probably the only one that notices these things. I think some of their pictures are much better than this. Plain neutral clothing that doesn't jump out.

I assume they have done their market research so they know what works and someone has a great reason for making these decisions.

Oh, I don't know....I've given it several look-sees...but I guess that was more like how you stare at an accident as opposed to wanting the bag. Concerned about Coach's desire to pick up the younger generation....if one of my young associates showed up at work looking like this, I'd send them home to change. And, sign them up for TPF to get a clue. I would let the younger ones wear slippers in my office, but still not heels and socks and a nightie.

Well said. I need to clarify that my dd would scoff at the entire ensemble, not the bag itself. Looks ridiculous, that outfit. It does look, like a nightie!

I've noticed how fashion trends always seem to come back around and be trendy again some 20 or 30 years later. My protocol for those things are if I wore it once in my lifetime, I'm probably too old to wear the second time it comes around. I have made an exception for low rise jeans though, back in the day called "hip huggers". LOLOLOL.

When is Coach going to put some of these bags such as the Preston and Toaster on their site or in their store? They have them Jax and people have ordered them. How odd is it that they just sit at Jax and people who aren't tPF members probably know nothing about them so they aren't ordering them. It kinda annoys me. I'm sick of scrolling through 20+ Coopers in every size/color/scrap of leather that Coach can think of. And how many ways can one make a Madison Tote look different? Let me count the ways! I must scroll through 2 dozen of those on the site also. Not that there's anything wrong with these bags but they have new bags at Jax and they are selling them to people when they call and ask, why don't they put them on the website?

They seem to trickle out the new arrivals onto the site.

Good point. As I just noted, I think my dd would scoff at that ensemble--not the bag itself, but the whole look as they did in the photo shoot. ITA that coach has done much better than this with dd shots that incorporate their models. Yikes. And--
Maybe I'm just turning into an old envious fogie....always possible!

I think what bothers me most about this "bag" ( not the model, etc) is the white trim and handles. Damn I'm 90% sure I would have loved it with black handles.

I think you are right. I love the snakeskin on the preston style, but there is something just off about the design. I loved it at first and keep thinking that it will be a nice contrast to my summer neutrals, but not sure. I will get it Friday so I will see.

That is what I was thinking!! Maybe I am just old and set in my ways. LOL.

Please take lots of pictures, I am on the fence but coach has surprised me before. Hopefully this time its a case of an off picture and the real life version is beautiful.

Can you tell me what the cornflower saffiano looks like? I'm really interested in that tote. I would like something that's almost gray, like a cool blue-gray that would be a nice substitute for black. How saturated is the cornflower saffiano?

It looks so sophisticated! Does the EW tote hold its structure well?
I have a pretty true to life picture of the cornflower pic in my reveal ....."anyone around?". It reminds me of Wedgewood.......
