TO EVERYONE WHO REPORTS FAKES TO EBAY, PLEASE READ:
Thanks to some research by Tetondeb and by Jed Winokur at the
Coach Archives, it seems that some of the "Bean Bag" creeds that I've been insisiting are fake for a long time may actually be genuine.
Tetondeb has an example and an explanation from Jed in her current listings. Since I'm not the seller I'll post a link:

The important part is
"It is stamped "bean bag" and while visiting the Coach Archives in NYC, I asked about this. I was told that around the time of this bag's production, Coach made small bean bag paper weights as executive gifts. The head archivist stated that the stamp was likely left on the press and was used on bags before the error was corrected..."
It sounds logical in a Coach sort of way, and a lot of the details of the stamping and apparent dates of the bags involved seem to make sense. Where Coach's Quality Control was while this was going on would probably make interesting reading, but as we've said many times, "the most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency". Looks like we have more proof, as if we needed it.
There are still some proveable fakes with Bean Bag creeds, so please ask at the Authenticate This Coach thread before reporting ANY of them.
My deepest and most sincere apologies for anyone who may have had a genuine bag removed or disposed of. I'll try to get the various Guides updated as soon as possible. I'll also cross-post this at the Hall Of Shame and the Answers threads.
