As a seller, i'm never insulted or offended that a potential buyer wants to do her due diligence. Since I know I have nothing to hide, I welcome verification.
From what I've seen, if there are multiple reports on a listing, Mercari is more likely to remove it.

Ditto, she’s got such an enormous log jammed in her arse that before she even hit sent on her message, I was already blocked. She went out of her way to find me on multiple platforms and harass me all while being a big baby about it and blocking when I had never even said a word to her. I only requested authentication like @houseof999
