And even those H8H- codes are questionable. Here are 2 from my files, and they're slightly different. Compare the "No"s, the size of the Coach name in the cartouche above the creed, and the overall size of the serial number. The tan one MAY be genuine, the black one is definitely fake. So maybe the tan one is fake too, we just don't have photos of the right details.

ETA - Other 1998 A8H- plant creeds I've seen are either Neo styles with A8H- prefixes from the Dominican Republic (one has an outlet stamp), or one (of several that we've seen) Station Bag with an A8H- code from the US that seems genuine, and a sample style that I own also from the US with a -0000 style number which I'm absolutely sure is genuine and which even has the correct brand name on the magnetic snaps, something I've never seen in a fake. The 2 US bags have a slightly higher crossbar on the H plant code than the -4156 posted above.

CATBIRD9, you have nothing to feel guilty about. I reported the same bag. And I found the cached listing too:

So unless a genuine Whitney has an extra vertical seam down the front panel as well as down the front pockets section, has an inside pocket zipper that doesn't go all the way across, a TOTALLY fake top zipper pull never used by Coach, and such poor quality that one of the corners is already coming apart, the bag you and I reported is FAKE. If the cached listing disappears, I have photos.

There's absolutely NO doubt in my mind that any J8H- serial prefix in this exact font is fake:

This is interesting - when I looked at other Whitneys I found what I'm sure is another GENUINE H8H- serial. It's a pretty beaten-up bag but it seems right to me. The creed and serial are hard to read:

Yes, that one looks good. It makes sense they would have made more than one Whitney at the time.
