Hey Ladies- please check this eBay seller's blue stewardess. It has that common fake serial starting with S. I'm on this blasted iPad, and can't find a report button with the app, nor can I post a link.

The seller is Nathan4717.

Soooo close, but not quite -

VINTAGE COACH CASHIN BLUE CRESCENT HOBO Shoulder Saddle Crossbody Bag
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-COA...888?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234d2c2078

Not only is it not even CLOSE to a Cashin bag or style since it wasn't made, either the genuine OR this fake version, until at least 22 years after Cashin and Coach parted company, but it's a fake all on its own.

Coach didn't make any Periwinkle or Light Blue bags in 2000. In fact this style doesn't even show up anywhere in 2000. The Strap grommets are too close together, the back of the turnlock has those 4 indentations that signal a fake, the shape of the bottoms of the flap and the bag itself isn't quite right, the piping on the base looks really bad and the stitches are too long, and both the "N" in "No" and the G in the serial number aren't in the correct font for that plant and month. And compared to this genuine red Saddle Bag, the strap looks too wide and so do the strap buckles - the real one is at the top, the fake is the blue one below it:

Why wouldn't they remove this listing? Not only is it a dreadful fake but the seller has an authenticity disclaimer in the title!!
It didn't get removed. It sold for $30. The same seller sold this fake for $35 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Black...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
and this one for $40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vinta...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Every Coach they have listed says "authenticity unverified." They all only have one picture so none can be authenticated.

Even though there is supposedly still the ebay money back guarantee, I wonder what they would really do since it contradicts their policy: http://www.ebay.com/lvs/live_auction/static/document/54cb9687e4b09c734e708e98.html

hi, guys, so sorry about that fake blue crescent. i bought it actually from a 'trusted seller' from whom i've bought many bags in the past. i ran it by several "authorities" on a site i'm on, and people signed off on it. i thought the creed G0D was a bit funny. But i normally only buy dark and dreary bags, and i've never bought a crescent bag, let alone something in such an eye-popping color. when my daughter didnt want it, i decided to sell it.

funny thing, is that i almost bought the red one you posted as a comparison, instead of the blue.

thanks for the 'lesson' in spotting fake/authentic crescent. i think from now on i'll stay away from bright pastel color bags!
thanks, brodav18

They fake the dark ones too. There are some beautiful authentic bags in unusual colors. Just get them authenticated first. It'd be a shame to pass up something just because you aren't sure.

You might want to reconsider who you run your bags by to authenticate them. It can be harmful to your ebay account's health!

Actually, G0D can be on an authentic bag. But many of your bags use "Cashin" as a key word and have absolutely no connection to her.

fair enough. i think i got in the habit of "coach cashin" because that's how i search for bags on ebay, and everything interesting comes up that way. of course you're right that only 5% of these bags, if that many, are genuine CASHIN bags!!
