You ladies are so much better than I am...
I was almost conned into buying a "real" coach bag in mexico...for about $70 USD
Thanks to my bf who said, do you really need another purse, I put it down.
I always thought that if it had the price tags and coach tags that they would be real...wow I'd be scared to buy anything not from a coach store after i read this thread!!!
You don't have to be scared, but you DO have to be extremely cautious. There are some excellent sellers on Ebay and Bonanzle who deal only in genuine Coach but you really need to have us look at anything you're thinking of bidding on - post the listing number or URL in the Coach Shopping - Authenticate This Coach thread. And don't buy or bid on impulse, like with that great Mexican "deal". If something looks too good to be true, it almost always IS.
And always use common sense. Coach and almost all other designer bag makers ONLY sell to their own stores and to major retailers like Macy's, Nordies, Dillard's, etc. They do NOT sell to independent internet sites, purse parties, small "boutiques", hair salons, wholesalers of any kind including known or suspected Ebay or other auction site sellers, guys who sell them out of the trunk of thir cars at golf courses, flea market sellers or Mexican street vendors. And they don't sell "seconds" to internet wholesalers either.
The Answers To Authenticity Questions thread has a lot of really good advice:
