many of the fakes on ebay get many bids....how can people actually believe those ugly bags are authentic! Just by looking at the lining you can tell from a mile away. there should be Coach education classes lol

Before I joined here, I did not know anything about fakes. I got my education here from some great "Professors". The course should be called TPF 101! :tpfrox:

giagnm...wat do u usually write in the fill out section when reporting an item?
"

I usually start out with "This is a fake Coach handbag." Then I put the reasons why after looking at the details, for example: "The lining is not a lining used in Coach bags. The creed patch is poorly made and stamped with a fake style number. The logo, hardware, hangtag were not made by Coach. The leather and material are poor quality. Coach never made a style like this."

What you say depends on the details that make the bag fake.

Hi there! I am new to posting here - but I have been visiting for several months. LOVE reading all these blogs. :)

I can't find the photos right now, but I want to share a story.

Recently I saw a hideous fake COACH pink purse for sale at a well known retail chain store. I complained to the manager that it was FAKE and I pointed out all of the features that were wrong on it. She thanked me and I thought she would look into it. Well... several days later I saw it BACK on display! She claimed she and some others decided that it was real. I was so mad I bought the stupid thing and sent it to the company's headquarters with a detailed letter of why it was fake and after several phone conversations the handbag was finally examined by their buyers and was indeed found to be fake! I was so mad at that manager for not taking me seriously! I received a full refund including tax and the shipping for sending it to corporate. :)
Turns out, someone bought a REAL bag, switched tags, and returned the FAKE!

OMG...I kknowww this post is wayy old, but i just had to comment...the same thing happened to me! I was at TJ MAXX and sawww the most hideous PLEATHER Coach bag that was half falling apart at the seams!!! Seriously, the quality was soooo bad!!! Not only was it falling apart ANDDD WAS NOT EVEN A STYLE THAT COACH EVEN MADE, they were SELLING it for $249.99!!! I asked for a manager, and told him that this bag is wayyy fake and a reputable store like that could get in tons of trouble for selling counterfeit goods... He began to argue with me, telling me that it was real, and showing me that there is a tag inside that said Coach, so it HAS to be real!!! I'm like DUDE...this bag is made of FAKE leather...NOT real leather that Coach bags are supposed to be made of...the stitching isn't right...the CC's don't line up on the seams...there are flaws in the stitching, and well...everywhere...its FAKE... He still had the nerve to ask me how I know it's fake...and even asked..."Do you work for Coach or something"... I'm like NOOOO... I'm just a handbag lover who collects AUTHENTIC bags, and don't want to see someone get ripped off, let alone your company get in trouble for selling COUNTERFEIT goods, cuz that's like a major offense...dude... hahahah... IDIOTS... He said he'd "look into it"...yeah right...he probably put it back on the shelf as soon as I walked out the door and didn't think twice. Before I was this bag obsessed, I once found a FAKE LOUIS VUITTON POCHETTE at a TJ Maxx, when LV NEVER goes on sale...wtfff?

TJ Maxx doesn't knowingly sell fakes but as pointed out by the other poster, they do get dishonest customers who do "buy and switches." Customers do returns with receipts and their customer service people don't scrutinize the item being returned.

Unfortunately, TJ's doesn't have employees who are knowledgeable enough to know how to determine authenticity and although it seems to be a systemic problem within their corporation, it appears that they aren't willing to either hire knowledgeable people or pay for the training of those they already employ.
