I know that this bag is a phony since I own this bag. One of my favorite Coach bags, actually.

My bag has little flecks of electric blue throughout the pattern
My bag has satin electric blue lining.
My bag has black suede bottom.
My bag has single pebble-leather strap.

I have never seen a bag like this, but its odd that the seller is touting that this bag is 100% authentic. I"m going to go check out her other auctions too.

PLEASE DON'T REPORT!

Wait for other opinions as I cannot find a photo of that exact style but I'm not convinced that it's fake.

ETA: It's a perfect match for style 6954.

Oh, I don't use eBay anymore...so I cannot report even if I'm 100% sure that an item is fake. I'm also unsure on that bag...it looks like it's trying to look like my bag, that's all.

It just looks SO similar to the Coach Hamptons Houndstooth, ya know?

So, it set my radar off like mad.

There are a couple of problems with this post.

1. You stated that you "know it's fake because you have the same one" and proceeded to tell what was different about it.

The problem is that you are comparing a different style bag! So of course there are going to be differences.

2. Although you might not have an ebay account to report it, others who read and lurk here might see your post, assume you know what you're talking about and report the listing as fake.

We've seen too many reports (on multiple forums) from honest sellers who have had their authentic listings pulled because someone "knew" it was fake and reported it.

Before posting any "funniest" or "ugliest" fakes here, please CONFIRM that it's indeed fake. Ask about it in the AT Coach thread.

That bag is perfectly genuine!

As BeenBurned said, please don't EVER report a bag as fake unless it's been looked at by an expert at the Authenticate thread.

Just a reminder for everyone, because this can't be said often enough:
JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T LOOK EXACTLY LIKE YOUR BAG - EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE NO IDEA IF IT'S EVEN THE SAME STYLE NUMBER - OR YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT BEFORE, OR DON'T LIKE THE STYLE, OR CAN'T FIND IT ON GOOGLE, OR THINK IT'S UGLY, OR IT BREAKS SOME "RULE" FOUND ON ANOTHER INTERNET WEBSITE, DOESN'T MAKE IT FAKE!

No problem! Apology accepted.

Those of us who've been around a while know how frequently authentic listings are reported and pulled because someone else read on a forum or an authenticity guide that "it must be fake because....." For a seller, once a listing is removed, even in error, it's a PITA to get that ding off your account.

All we ask is that authenticity questions be posted in the appropriate forum to be sure that any posts here definitely be confirmed as fake. In fact, this is the first post here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...es-ever-coach-edition-430751.html#post9975370

I've been trying to keep notes and such (though I'm more inclined to buy a leather bag and not sig. print.)

A good tipoff of a phony is signature print outside and lining, correct? And does Coach ever wrap the handles on bags in plastic? I saw a fairly good-looking bag a couple weeks ago (can't find the listing now) but the handles were wrapped in plastic. Am I right in shying away from those?

Correct on both counts. although there are a very few exceptions. Maybe half a dozen styles with small patches of C fabric can also have C lining, but those styles are at least 4 or 5 years old. And Coach will sometimes wrap some of the hardware in foam but will never wrap the straps or handles in plastic wrap.

BTW, leather bags are faked too, so check here before you bid.
