If the strap is removeable and depending on what type and color clips are on the bag you can get extra clips from places like Silver-Coach. They carry the regular dog-leash type and also the round spring-gate style. There are other companies that sell purse and accessory clips too, or you can buy replacement straps at Silver-Coach on Ebay and Bonanza or Mautto.com.

Adding one or two on each end will often add several inches to the strap length. Here are some sources (I can't vouch for some of them since I haven't bought from them but it gives you an idea of what's available), check their stores or sites for other styles, colors and sizes - always double check the lengths and the sizes of the clips and especially the openings to be sure they'll fit your bag's hardware:

I think they are missing a good sales opportunity by not selling straps in the Coach stores. It would be so nice to take a bag in and get a matching strap in the size we need. I don't know, but I think they are just being greedy and want us to buy new bags and not be able to get better use out of our own bags. So instead of being able to convert a bag we already own into a hippie for $25- $50, we need to buy a brand new hippie for a few hundred dollars.

That said, my SA was able to find me a matching strap for one of my bags and gave it to me for free, no charge. So it wouldn't hurt to ask in the boutiques if you need a specific strap.

Agree totally, and you are lucky to have such a wonderful SA. Whenever I mention or suggest anything in the way of improvements, some of my SA's get all defensive like we don't need clientele who make demands or how its not cost effective.

BTW, just a quick plug for getting straps from Mautto.com - they can custom-make straps to match any leather color, size or hardware that you need. And they seem to have a decent choice in straps that will work with Coaches. I have one of the older Poppy Tartan Book totes, the pink & purple Siggy plaid with the sparkly center on the straps, and the 44-inch one that I ordered from them is an exact match for the 34-inch strap that came with the bag. And it was an in-stock item, not even a special order. I'll definitely buy from them again.
