I went to my local Coach the other day to check out the new Kristins. I like them very much but the crossbody straps are too small for my body type. Why oh why can't the straps be longer? I was thinking of calling Coach and suggest a longer strap for all lovely body types. It seems like it is made for one type. Mind you, I don't like to complain or whine but seriously I really hope this changes. I am sure I am not the first or the last. :confused1:

I have the same problem with many shoulder bags. I like the drop to be long enough for me. I'm around a size US 10/12 but have very large shoulders. I also happen to live in a very cold climate where we wear heavy winter coats.

I'm a size 14 myself and have boobs that get in the way. I live in CA so it doesn't get as cold as other places. I do wear a jacket when it does get cold. I think that the Poppy straps are accommodating to an extend. I like the other collections but they are definitely less accommodating.

That's a good idea, Shortthiing_Jen! Do you know if the straps are always available?

I am sure I see alot of them listed. I am sorry I bought 2 different ones to compare and the one in my pic does fit and is this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390287580656&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
the first link I sent is one I asked him to make like the parker adjustment he gave me a full refund and told me to keep the strap I have.Hes seeing about a larger clasp great ebayer. he makes them himself I emailed him about a custom strap this was his first email to me

we make our own straps and yes we can make both types you gave and we make adjustable straps as well and do upon request of the client. The finish will be as in our examples. We have been working with leather for about 6 years, mainly exotics. However, we are rapidly expanding our manufacturing to meet customer demand which has been overwhelming in the area of replacement or custom straps. Your thoughts?

He is really nice:smile1:

I love his leather he used more than the one with the right size clasp. and I like his clap better its shiny the one that fits is not but it works

I think they are missing a good sales opportunity by not selling straps in the Coach stores. It would be so nice to take a bag in and get a matching strap in the size we need. I don't know, but I think they are just being greedy and want us to buy new bags and not be able to get better use out of our own bags. So instead of being able to convert a bag we already own into a hippie for $25- $50, we need to buy a brand new hippie for a few hundred dollars.

That said, my SA was able to find me a matching strap for one of my bags and gave it to me for free, no charge. So it wouldn't hurt to ask in the boutiques if you need a specific strap.

I totally agree with you! You are a lucky Coachie to have a SA like that!:D

I totally agree! It's sooo frustrating, because I LOVE crossbodies! A lot of purses slip off my shoulder so I find it a lot easier to use crossbodies. Most of the crossbodies are about an 1-1.5 shorter than I want. They don't all have removable straps so changing them out won't work. I agree with the other poster that said they should sell longer straps or just simply make the adjustable strap a little longer. Maybe one day.... :wondering:shrugs:
