I have too many Coach bags, and other brands as well, since I'm a purseaholic. My favorites are my LV's. I have limited editions of other brands and thousands of dollars tied up in my collection, as many of you have.
My confusion is that the "new" Coach must have someone from Dooney and Burke designing for them. The cutesy little bags and the flowery patterns and shapes look like Dooneys or copied shapes from other companies. In my opinion these are no way sophisticated or for adult women---tweens maybe. A little tiny clutch would make me look like a fool. What is the problem? Can't they come up with new items?
Whatever the reason, I'm saving money. I have not bought a Coach since Phoebe, and now they've just changed it a little and are selling it under another name. I am not going to be taken in by that just to say, "I have a new Coach." Ridiculous!

For now, like others on this forum, I am over and out with Coach.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I see what I've always seen from Coach - lots of variety. There might not always be something I can't live without, but I think there are items for many different tastes.

I think it is a good thing when they decide to keep a style around longer. Most people weren't thrilled that they switched from Phoebe to Edie. When a style is popular, I think they should continue making it. Premier designers make the same styles year after year; I wish Coach did this too. Too many styles disappear too quickly. It makes me feel like even Coach didn't believe in them. If they continue to make Dakotahs and Rhyders for the next year or more, that will make me happy. It would be validation that these are lasting styles.

The shoulder bags are classic Coach style. Many of the current styles were inspired by classic Coach, not other designers.

Bye. :D

Glad you enjoy your other bags. I don't understand the need to stomp your foot on your way out. I'm sorry but I'm tired of hearing people bash Coach. If you don't like the new styles and designs, don't buy them. There are many brands our there that may cater to your taste.
I myself love my Coach collection and haven't been a fan of EVERY design they came out with. I just wait for the right bag or venture to another brand and come back.
All designers copy each other....simple!

Well said. There is no need for bashing. If you don't like the selection don't buy a bag.

Everyone is entitled to express their preferences for one style or another, but some people insist on expressing it in a manner that is insulting to others. When you do this, you are essentially saying, "to those of you who like these new styles, I just want you to know that you have no taste. And those of you who are buying repeat bags because you love a particular style, I just want you to know that you are easily manipulated and not very bright. Since I, on the other hand, am brilliant and have great taste, I'm going to buy something else....not YOUR ugly bag." Seriously??? Carrying a beautiful purse won't make you appear any less ugly if you spend your time bashing other people. Personally, I love the fact that everyone on this forum has totally different styles. Seeing how other people put things together that I would never think to wear really expands my horizons and my appreciation for individual style. Rock on, my unique and beautiful sisters!!!!!

Hmmm... I never had a personal relationship with Coach. I just like to keep up with the bag selection. When I see one I want and can use, I buy it. Simple. :shrugs:

I trust the craftsmanship, at least the work that I can evaluate for myself. That is why I prefer to buy from them.

I expect nothing in terms of future bags. When it's over, it's over. I'll figure something else out.

Love to hear the rants, though. :p

I'm also not a fan of the current florals mainly because I'm old enough to remember when Laura Ashley/Jessica McClintock Victoriana, and Little House on The Prairie -Americana were all the rage. I adored them as a teen but once they were out of style, they looked so outdated I don't want to repeat the experience. Don't really see a Dooney influence though. Now if Coach started putting little ducks in a row...

Yep, me too.
While the OP is entitled to her current negative opinion of Coach, the company, I didn't read into it that she was particularly insulting to those who enjoy the current styles either. Sometimes, when people feel let down by a brand they've been attached to they feel more angry than if they never cared for it in the first place and I think that's ok too. Personally, I enjoy looking at the current styles but holding off buying for the time being. I like the feather fobs but they're above my budget for accessorizing bags and I'm hoping for a possible show on FOS. How is it that styles I even dislike start to look more attractive once they hit the outlets.

I too am disappointed with the current styles and fabrications. I'm stuck in Borough-land.

What really bugs me is the continued use of plastic-y leather. I really hope Coach stops doing that.
