It's very minimal and plain. I saw the bag on ins, and it looks cuter with bag charm or floral straps. IMO I would rather go for Swagger or Grace, even though the price is a bit more expensive than Charlie.

So I went ahead and bought the chalk version of this bag and I really like it! It’s lightweight and simple. I think color choice makes a big difference in terms of how much the bag stands out (or not).
Agree. The bag is growing on me. I don't have a larger (for me) chalk bag & this may be it. Adding that I just snagged the chalk cross stitch strap on clearance from Lord & Taylor which will pair really well with it I think.

I would buy the KH patchwork sig version with smooth leather accents- was disappointed it was not in the PCE event. I actually like the clean lines of this silhouette esp. in canvas.

I got the bag delivered today and I think it's gorgeous! I like simple understated designs.

But i'm not gonna keep it because the bottom seems to be defective (creased, probably not glued properly?):

Gonna keep Tory Burch McGraw Slouchy chain shoulder tote instead!

But I really liked Charlie, thinking to get it later in burgundy when they go on sale, probably even a turncock version.

I just bought the Charlie Carryall Turnlock in Black. It is perfect for my work. Carries a 13” laptop very nicely in the padded zipper compartment. I like that the zipper compartment is NOT down the center of the bag. There is a lot of room in this bag. Files fit well. Nice organizational pockets and room for essentials and much more. During the work week I love carrying one bag. It is light and stays on my shoulder. I removed the detachable strap. The handle strap drop is perfect for shoulder carry. I really like the Cooper but it just isn’t big enough for work as it does not accommodate a laptop. And, it is also not a true shoulder bag. I just love the “throw on your shoulder and go kinda bag.” I also do like the feel of the leather on the Charlie. Sure, not a 1941 bag, but it is cute and functional. I also picked it up at a recent 40% F&F sale. I am enjoying carrying it.

Nana61256, Photos please!
Hi! Sorry for the delay in posting pics. Been busy. Here are a couple pics of my Charlie Carryall Turnlock. I don’t have my 13” laptop right now but it does fit nicely in the padded zipper compartment. There are a lot or organizational slip pockets, but I threw in a smaller Samorga bag organizer I had which keeps my wallet and catchall pouch from getting mixed up inside. My water bottle and umbrella nestle to the side of it. I sometimes throw a pair of flat shoes on top. I don’t use the detachable crossbody strap. The handle strap drop is long enough for a shoulder bag. Easy carry. For me, the Charlie works really well as a work bag. I think it looks very professional, too.

I have the gray Charlie as a work bag too. I wanted the cooper but it didn’t fit my laptop. It is a basic bag but, as noted above, in terms of functionality, it is great. I hate work bags that are too wide at the bottom - everything sloshes around. This one is just the right width. I also considered the rogue brief case but that one has such square edges, i didn’t find it attractive.
