I know!!!! The unusual connection is what attracted me to the bag when I first saw it at the SA store - even though the bag was in such sad shape.

I had never seen that connection type before and it seemed to be a subtle but very nice detail. I don't know what this type of connection is called but I call it "brass ball stud rivet"! The bag was made in 1993 and it has had a tough life but the strap connections are still holding - so they must work well, whatever they are called! Here's an after pic of the connection we are talking about.
^Yep, the men's valet keyfob I got NWT and In original box had the same type of release for the end rings on each part, but I can imagine that with some major use that it will be too loose to be safe to put stuff on there... as your bag could be if you adjusted it a lot (not that you will).

Thanks guys! This thread is from a year ago and it made me realize that I have been doing these rehabs for over a year! The navy Becket Zip was one of my first rehab attempts and I learned a lot while working on her, and this bag is still one of my favorites.

I posted the link again recently as a reference for the same style bag that Hyacinth was identifying for a TPFer. She is a timeless classic and a nice-sized bag! :D

Seeing the pics again reminds me that this rehab was done before I knew about touching-up the edging on the straps; I need to fix that!
