I don’t know if there’s anything in the rules per se but yes, I don’t think you’ll find authenticators recommending selling prices. We certainly don’t on the Bal thread. I honestly don’t know how helpful it is to suggest a value as people will have different ideas of what a bag’s worth. I do agree that there didn’t look to be anything of high value in that mix but I wouldn’t feel comfortable suggesting a selling price as I don’t have familiarity with all of the brands. And even if I did a bag’s only worth what someone’s willing to pay and right now that isn’t much.
Ah, okay. Then I would like to push back (respectfully) a bit on your response to OP. I agree he's being brash and disrespectful, but claiming rules for the forum might confuse new or existing users. It seems a bit misleading to claim "There are rules that the forum dictates and we're happy to help with identifying bags and authenticating etc., but we don't generally try to place a dollar value on bags," since it's not a rule.
I, for one, was hesitant to respond to this thread because I thought I'd be breaking rules.
