This thread is closed as we don’t currently have authenticators for Gucci, please seek a paid service.

Please post authenticity questions related to GUCCI in this thread.

The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

Please follow the following rules:

Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is in order to prevent duplication requests and to make it simpler for people to 'search' for items which may have been posted previously. This is not a thread to ask general questions about GUCCI, please refer to our main GUCCI forum for such information.

This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

Item:
Listing number:
Seller:
Link:
Comments:

If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
Link (if available):
Seller:
Who took the pictures:
History of the bag:
Comments:

Please give us as much information as you can and then attach any pictures (all authentication must include pictures).

Authenticators are not required to answer every request and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.
Please note that comments on price and condition are NOT permitted.
Please limit your request to one (1) per post; otherwise it gets too confusing keeping them all straight.
Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests must be posted in this thread.
To ensure that additional pictures requested are seen by the authenticators, please utilize the quote feature or provide a link to your original request and response. Failure to do so may result in your query not being answered.
Should one of your items be questioned in this thread, you are welcome to provide additional pictures or materials supporting its authenticity.
Do not handle your disputes with other members in this thread but take your differences to Private Messages. Failure to do so can result in banning.

2good - how come you didn't respond to me? Did I post something wrong? Please
1. There is no picture of the opposite side of the serial number.

2. Your posting count is only three, really one. Are you only posting to get the information you need and leave? Most authentication threads on here require at least 25 posts. I have responded to others with a low posting count if I look at their history and see they contributed to the forums here.

I can't speak for others, but that is why your post may have been skipped. Not trying to argue, but only answer the question to the best of my ability.

And isn't that how you get started on the site by posting? I'm a bit confused now with what else I should do other than contribute to some other posts.

Hi guys,
Can anyone authenticate this bag and watch for me.

Item name: (i don't know)
Item listing: bought it at the opportunity shop (op shop/secondhand shop).
All the parts and stitches seems to be good. But i just want to be sure if i got the real deal.

And also together with the gucci watch they are both from the OP shop.

Thanks so much and would love to hear from anyone.

It wont let me someone upload each photo as i always got an error message that file too big that's why i collage it. Hope it's all good.

Hi please help me authenticate this bag...
Thanks heaps. I have been browsing online on the serial number but cant find any luck. I have already emailed gucci but still didn't get any reply.

Thanks would appreciate it so much

Cheers

I realized that, and now figuring out how to respond to others and my own posts. Sorry for the mix up - so should I just get off this thread ? I was just looking for some help. Didn't mean to intrude in any way into the established users threads.

Not at all. Lovely to have you as a member, it takes a little while to get a hang of the etiquette and rules.

This thread is for people to post active listings for authentication (sometimes their own bags already just bought/inherited - but we prefer live listings). Sometimes people have to wait until the right authenticator comes along, sometimes we ask for more info and sometimes we have to just 'skip' because we have no time to enter into a dialogue. We try to keep all other 'chat' to an absolute minimum, just the posted listing from the asker and info and then the answer from the authenticator. New comers are entitled a little 'wiggle room' which is why I'm answering you here.

@2goodeyestoo is also correct that some authenticators do not answer new or even members who only come to use our 'services' and expertise through these AT threads, the prerogative to answer is completely down to the authenticator her/his self. All of us are volunteers and under no obligation to answer anyone posts, but read post 1 & 2 for reasons why most people's posts get skipped. In addition each of us often has a speciality area(s) and mine is vintage, esp before Gucci introduced codes.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to join in by reading or posting on other threads at Gucci forum. Actually owning a Gucci piece is not an absolute requirement and reading through will I hope make you more familiar with the brand overall.

Here is a helpful (I hope) thread for you to read through started by another tPFer unsure of why her post was skilped:

Hi guys,
I'm hoping you could help me.
I have been given a Gucci bag passed down from a family member and I am curious as to whether it is real (probably not but thought i'd check). No links as I own this.
The serial on the clasp is OKPTA1519426 OK.0973628 if you can't read it.

Thank you
