I don't necessarily discourage you from buying pre-owned
I personally love buying pre-owned myself
You just need to make sure you go to a reputable seller
You can find several on the recommended resellers thread
Some good ones for Chanel:
Ann's Fabulous Finds, Fashionhulu, Boutique Patina, Timeless Luxuries, Portero, SnobSwap, etc.

Picture of the serial nr. is taken with flash and from an angle that makes it nearly impossible to see the details.
Also missing pictures of:
- the back plate
- zipper pull

to showcase that receipts, no matter how believable they may look with handwriting et al, mean absolutely nothing.
Other things that mean nothing:
- Proof from store/dept store that the bag was purchased there
- Original tags
- Having an authenticity card
- A story on where it was purchased
- Saying it was taken in for authentication by the store associate
- A store associate saying it is authentic
- A repair receipt
- Having a hologram sticker
- Having an authentic hologram sticker
