Hello,

Looking to purchase a bag as a gift for my wife, however as I am not too familiar with all the details when it comes to authenticity, I figured I would ask here... Below is all the information I have about the bag, which I will probably purchase early next week. As such, I only have limited information and the one picture, so I realize that it is (probably?) not possible to make any 100% conclusions however maybe some of you can at least provide your thoughts, if you notice any details I should look closer at during the purchase etc. Naturally I have looked into the basics regarding the serial number, how it should look etc. If I read all the tables correctly, the bag mentioned below should have a serial number beginning with 18 or 19?

Item: Chanel Boy (new(i think? feel free to clarify :smile1:) medium) black lambskin,
Serial Number: n/a
Listing number: n/a
Seller: private i.e. n/a
Who took the picture: seller
History of the bag: very limited knowledge, said to be purchased in Chanel store two years ago.

Please take the time to read the first two posts in this thread, as well as post 554. I'm not sure where you are located, but many times buyers mistake a 'difficult to find bag' for a 'sold out bag'. You should be able to find most bags by checking the Authentic Finds thread, or even reaching out to members on the Help me find thread. There are also recommended sellers found here on TPF which will make the experience much better for you.

There are reputable sellers for sure, but it is very difficult to authenticate these newer Boy and Classic bags by pics alone due to all the superfakes....also check out the Ebay threads for safe buying. Most other online authenticators require these bags to be authenticated in person.

Please see the above comments. There are not enough photo's here to authenticate but I see a few details that look off.

The main concern I have is that from what I know the "pearly" caviar family comes mostly with special matte hardware, not normal hardware as pictured. Also, the stitched CC above the Chanel/Made in stamp seems to be a little off: the interlocked part of the left C doesn't look naturally curved.

The bag in the pictures is authentic. 15C pearly did have shiny HW on certain mediums.
