It's authentic.
The size is medium. There is a MADE IN stamp, it's on the opposite side of the CHANEL stamp, just not shown. And yes, the zippered compartment underneath the outer flap.

The seller took it down immediately after purchasing the bag. The bag appears to be fairly legit, however the chain strap is silver with "chips" showing a different color metal- copper/brass? The hardware on the bag is Gold. The plating seems to be wearing/worn off- as there is silver showing on the lock plate and the male part that goes into the lock, which is mostly silver.
The bag has no serial number or authenticity card. I was told this bag is from the 1990s.
