I wouldn't imagine it being fake but some similar bags I've seen online tend to have a sticker on the inside with a code whereas this one does not. It did however come with a black plastic card (Carte d'authenticite) with a serial number on it.

This bag is supposed to be the Maxi flap, but from the pics provided, it doesn't look good to me.

It is a heritage from my grandma, I dont know anything about the bag, only that she is pretty old.
ID Card is matching to the sticker, placed in the zipper bag, I was too afraid to pull it out.

I took the pictures. I bought this from a private seller. She claimed she bought it from the Costa Mesa Chanel in the late 90’s and the bag has been used less than 50 times in 20 years. Missing pictures of the CHANEL stamp and MADE IN stamp, but all other details look correct for an authentic Chanel.

I'd like to see up close pictures of the serial sticker, zipper pull and MADE IN stamp. I'm not seeing anything of concern so far and I think the CHANEL stamp looks silver instead of gold due to lighting/reflection.

The images dont show whether it has 2 or four grommets - was a bag like this ever made with ONE chain instead of a double strap? No right? So maybe the auction house just didnt photograph it well - u cannot see the grommet number and they made the chain long.
Also the Bottom of the bag is not quilted.

Could anyone give me any input on this?

This style exists and was pretty common back in the days, but is not the same style as the classic medium double flap with 4 grommets. It's a vintage medium single flap. It's also single chain. No grommets, because the chain is attached underneath the flap (like on WOCs). Stitching of the perimeter of the flap is correct as is the non-stitching on the bottom of the bag. Very often this style comes a push lock closure, but every now and then you come across one that has a turn lock closure like the one in your pictures. This style also comes in smaller sizes.

As for authenticity, I don't have enough pictures to go by. If you want to have this bag authenticated, pls post back in the correct format and inlude a link, or login shot and all required pictures. Se this post for more info.

I recommend you sending these 00V classic flaps in for physical inspection. I can take a look to see if there's any red flags, but need forward facing (non-angled), in focus and glare-free up close shots of all the details. See post # 2 for list.
