Thanks @A bottle of Red and @lill_canele ! Both of you have mentioned a diamond solitaire, which I had also been considering, but in some ways that for me, I just don’t find them to have much interest…as in a personal signature, kwim? I love them but also want this pendant to be somewhat unique.

I do have a .4 princess cut loose diamond…was thinking of getting something done with it like having it embedded in a circle. Hmmmm….?
My parents gave me a necklace for my 16th birthday that I very rarely take off. It is one of my mom’s loose diamonds kinda hanging in a yellow gold circle.

I LOVE it and get compliments all the time. I can try and find a pic to send you if you’d like. I have received a few other necklaces since (VCA, a strand of pearls, and an “upgraded” diamond necklace from my parents for my wedding) but I always find myself going back to this pendant.

FWIW my wedding set is set in platinum but I the mixed gold doesn’t really bother me (and I wear yellow gold bracelets too).

Thanks- yes, I would love to see it when you get a chance to take a picture!

I like the first and the third pendants best.
Re: your skin colour, if you have yellow undertones to your skin (check your veins on your wrists, if they look green, you do, if they look blue, you don’t), warmer colours are better for your skin tone, so YG is the better choice.

I have two necklaces that I wear all the time. Alternating, but wearing 24/7 for a few weeks at a time. You can get necklaces handmade or go to the younger independent designers for a "different" look. IMHO some "traditional" jewelry makes me look older.
The moon with the ruby is absolutely Stunning!!!! I keep falling in love on this thread

The third one is beautiful - that's my favourite.

Honestly....I don't really hold with metal tones and what suits. Generally the metal is relatively small so I feel it's irrelevant. I don't see how a small piece of one metal or another could wash someone out. I'd go with your preference.

Wow, this is so cool with interchangeable inserts! What brand is this…or is it custom?
Both…you buy the diamond circle/chain and then have whatever insert made. I have horses, hence the horseshoe and I wanted to use my Mother’s .75 ct diamond in something. The possibilities are endless! The jeweler also makes bracelets. Cool idea…local jeweler.

I realize my thread is 1 1/2 years old and I appreciate everyone’s input. It’s taken me this long to decide and pull the trigger! And in the end I decided to go custom and couldn’t be happier!

I’d been following a jewelry designer from Vancouver, Canada on IG @oriidesign and loved her Meta bangle so reached out to her about using its form in a pendant. It’s a perfect mix of the circle/ellipse, yet fluid and unique design I was looking for, plus the ability to wear it with a chain of my choice - a 1.2 mm rope. Thanks for letting me share!
