I have been lusting over finding the perfect one for a couple years, and when I was dropping off a different bag for repair, I asked if they were going to be receiving any... and got a call a week or two later! I wasnt sure if I wanted black or gray, but after holding a couple and seeing more photos, I settled on this gray one!

Frances isn't impressed. :D

Apparently all the department stores and boutiques (even my SA in Tokyo called to tell me they arrived) have been getting them the past couple weeks, so if you must have one, now is the time to strike! Especially if you have been wanting a gray one, almost all the ones I looked at were gray!

Again, big congrats and it is super stunning!!!

Btw, I didn't know the shagreen comes in black vs. grey!! I think because they don't dye the skin, so whether is black or grey or anything in between is solely the creation of nature (I could be totally wrong here :P) ? But I thought officially it's not like Celine created the stingray box in two different colors???

Yea, they don't dye them but there are years that black seems more common than gray. I saw a small size that was nearly pitch black, but all the mediums I saw were varying shades of gray. The one I ended up with is on the darker side, I saw some gorgeous lighter shades.

I see! Good that you had multiple in front of you for you to choose the shade u like the most! You know often time stock is so limited you are lucky if they have a non-display one in the color/leather you want!

God, your pics are making me reconsidering the stingray!! DH may not be happy tho since I just got my red one less than two months ago, lol!

I saw 3 in person and my SA in Tokyo/SF sent me photos of what were available in their shops as well as in other stores they could request for me. So you can probably inquire with them!
