Did you try charcoal packs?Hi
Can I check if you let the bag air or put it in a dust bag when you placed the dryer sheets in it? I’m trying to get rid of stale cigarette smell from 1 of my pre-loved and nothing is working so far

Why am I still lurking on these threads? I sold my pre-loved bag that I could never get the smell out of. I feel like I need to crack my knuckles to start listing everything I tried - I researched it all over the internet and tried everything I could find *short* of the washing machine -- but maybe someone else will have luck with something here. It was an epi with a suede interior, pristine otherwise. I tried: the de-smell ozone type packs from the hardware store, crumpled newspaper, potpourri packs, peppermint essential oil droplets on paper towels, packs of gum, baking soda in a container, then baking soda sprinkled and strategically vacuumed out, dried ground coffee (again, in socks, I think...)... couple/few months had gone by at this point and I upped the game. Next I tried: pure charcoal (purchased from pet store - used in fish tanks - I think I put it in thin cotton socks...), wiping of the suede interior with rubbing alcohol wipes, interior car cleaner... by this point winter came. I set the bag on a protected outside balcony in the cold, over some low dips in temperature. It stayed on a covered balcony for awhile outside. My husband and best friend who knew of my plight might say now, in retrospect, that a sort of mania had set in by this point... she was telling me to sell the dam thing, he refused to sniff it one more time. The next memory that stands out - and here is where I'd really lost it - is me standing in the driveway with a bag of kitty litter and a couple little brown paper lunch bags lined up, which I filled with the kitty litter and stuffed in the bag. (For some reason, at this point in my mind, I'm doing this with a cigarette hanging out of my own mouth, squinting from the smoke wafting back up into my own face... but that's a false memory there because I don't actually smoke.). So at this point the Speedy has it's own little spot on the balcony, it's got kitty litter filled lunch bags in it, and it sat outside for the winter. Oh, and I tried little computer fans, too.
And then I sold it.
The end.
I didn’t put it in a dust bag, I just zipped it all up and left the dryer sheets in there for a few days. I’m sure if you’re persistent and maybe do it a few times, the smell will eventually go. My bag smelled pretty bad, but it’s good as new now! Good luck.Hi
