Does it say that it has a smell?
You could try to get the smell out of a bag but cigarette smell certainly won’t go away. I’ve bought a few years ago a preloved Palm Springs MM and the cigarette smell was sooo bad, I tried to leave it open for the air, with „smell remover“ etc and nothing worked lol

I recently bought vintage LV bag from 1984 and when it came, I almost throw up coz not only smell of cigarette but also mildew .. I came up with some thread telling me how to get rid of the smell.. I cleaned the bag first ( I put a face mask on , it helps ) and after that , I put a around 200gr baking soda in a old socks and put them both inside the bag and outside the bag, put them in a plastic bag and close them tightly for 24 hours or so.. Most of the smells actually GONE ! I then clean the bag one more time saddlesoap , and re conditioning them both outside and inside and now it smells ''normal ''

Try that trick , could work .... Just remember that make sure that the baking soda doesnt get o the bag both inside and outside so it doesnt damage the canvas / leather

I saw a You Tube Video about charcoal packs? I personally don't buy things with a smell but I wonder if that would work?
I used those on a bag with cigarette smell, and it worked. I first cleaned the bag thoroughly (it had alcantara lining), then put it with the charcoal inside a closed plastic bag for a few days. After that and a little bit of airing the smell was practically gone.

I bought a vintage bag which had a sort of stale smoke smell inside (wasn’t disclosed in listing). I would have sent it back but first I tried a couple of things. First I put some of that carpet shake and vac powder inside and let it sit for a few days, then cleaned it out, and then I left dryer sheets inside for another few days. After that the smell was completely gone.

I tried for months to remove a stale cigarette smell from an epi bag that I loved, and I could never quite get it all. It improved, but I could still smell it (even when husband and friend said 'yeah, but it's not that bad'). It continuously bugged me about the bag - it was its only flaw. Eventually had to sell it.

This reminded me of a damier ebene speedy I bought that didn't have smell revealed. It was a good price so I decided to keep it and try to de-odor it. I am sensitive to cig smell and have a damier speedy that came with cig odor that wasn't terrible, but definitely noticeable. I used bag candies from Lovin My Bags, activated charcoal, baking soda and nothing worked. I finally tossed it in the washing machine. (I posted about it here - I'll have to search to see how long ago that was.) There was still a slight cig smell in the canvas, not the lining. So, I put it back in its trash bag with the bag candie. I just now went and got it out and it smells of the bag candie, so I'm going to let it air out and see if I can still smell smoke. It's been it that bag for YEARS, y'all. Hopefully the smell will be tolerable so I can use it!

Hi
Can I check if you let the bag air or put it in a dust bag when you placed the dryer sheets in it? I’m trying to get rid of stale cigarette smell from 1 of my pre-loved and nothing is working so far
