Also, I noticed the bag has a "smell". Not like super awful but its not necessary pleasant. Is that normal? My wife purchased it from Nordstrom.

DAMN THAT! have it replaced. My Gucci leathers only smell like...LEATHER! If it's anything other than that it needs to be replaced...PERIOD! forget about that SA...contact Gucci directly.

I mean some brand new bags come with creases, rips, or other imperfections. certainly it happens but it is NOT supposed to. and you should NOT have to live with it, it's faulty, they will stand behind it and replace it, don't keep it, you will find it is really annoying, and God forbid the items you place inside the bag have a smell.

I think i will do that. It also had a tiny sticky spot (like some kind of adhesive) but that came off easily.

Beautiful bag. I would imagine the smell would go away fairly quickly but have it replaced if it bothers you. I cannot imagine your Nordstrom SA not fixing the problem, but stock may be an issue as the Marmont bags at Nordstrom are purchased very quickly. Good luck!

we pay WAYYYYYYYYYYY too much for our merchandise for them to try to convince you to settle. it's a gorgeous bag, they can give you one exactly like it sans the defects. and don't let them make you feel bad about it either. but also please do NOT attribute this behavior to Gucci, that's just a horrible SA.

I spoke with another rep, or at least someone higher up and they told me if I have to have it cleaned , they would reimburse me. I’ve also contacted Gucci directly :)

ok yes, I've not dealt with someone so unhelpful. I'm like we are droppin' a few stacks PER BAG...please don't be so cavalier in your attitude! but good, glad you are getting things worked out, it's such a beautiful bag, and you should be enjoying it to the fullest!
