Should not as long as your smaller ring is smaller than size 6. My e ring is a quarter size smaller than my wedding band. My Tiffany SA informed me my anchor ring aka my e ring has to be a tad smaller than my e ring. I have no problems so far.

I wish I saw this before I went to Tiffanys! But good to know, I'm going to do that with the diamond band I hope to purchase later this month. Did you have your engagement ring sized smaller or this was always your original plan? I hope to get an extra thin atlas ring second hand to wear on the same hand so now I can do this anchoring thing and have more flexibility in size on eBay. Thanks for explaining this!!
Edit-- after I posted this my ring almost fell off- I am definitely going to size the diamond band a quarter size smaller as you suggested so I don't have to worry! Very grateful for you for telling me this!!

My e ring is the classic 6 prong and I wore it alone for awhile. When I got my Tiffany wedding band, my SA suggested that I go a quarter size bigger. After I got my band and stacked it with the e ring, the e ring felt just a bit tight and I wanted to size it up but my SA suggested no, because I need the e ring as an anchor ring. That was over 10 years ago and I am glad I went with my SA's suggestions.
