I have both the small D'Joy and the medium and I do love them both for different reasons. My D'Joy is a more informal bag... hands-free and fun bag. I don't have the same freedom with my medium. But it might be me. I don't think the medium overwhelms the petite frame. I am 5'2 and I think it is proportional.
