Chopard earrings hurt ears, anyone else?

Firstly, your new earrings are gorgeous!

Here is my tip--a few years ago I bought an antique pair of pearl drops, the "post" was not a typical cylindrical shape and had a sharp hook at the end to clip into the other part. I had a devil of a time getting those things in my ears, they would get swollen and red, so to deal with any possible tears or abrasions I used a bit of Neosporin to lube the weird posts and take care of any infection. That did the trick--no way was I going to give up on those babies.

yes, hate them lol! Not sure easy with nails!

Yeah, some people ditch the La Pousette earring backs because they can be frustrating to deal with.

First I think you should contact Chopard to see if they can switch out the La Pousette backs for regular butterfly backs. They probably are accustomed to that request and might be able to accommodate you.

If that doesn't work, there are various jewelry finding sellers on Etsy (such as this one) that sell 14k and 18k earring backs. If you look around, some sellers let you choose both the overall diameter of the earring back and the diameter of the little hole that the post goes through (standard hole versus extra large hole to accommodate thicker posts).

Good luck.

The earrings aren't big or heavy, but the post is a bit bigger than any of my others, would they fit bigger/thicker posts?

Yes, thicker posts shouldn’t be a problem as @skyqueen mentioned. I’ve used Chrysmela for thicker posts too. Mine have the plastic disc as well - with the discs, they are called Chrysmela Extra. You also squeeze the sides to get them open but unlike La Pousette which is hard to handle, these have better significantly better grip and are easy to put on. It’s very secure and comfortable once on too

Perfect description! I have the wg and yg…perfect for expensive earrings. When the clip is released they fit very tight on post. Hope that makes sense!
