A gemstone should not wiggle or move or make any noises at all. If it does, it has been set crooked or it has been banged into something. Another slight bump might possibly dislodge the stone from the setting.
My e-ring diamond dislodged in the street once. Thank goodness I was able to retrace my steps and find it (outside!!). To this day I still wonder how that was even possible, given it was one of the busiest intersections in midtown Manhattan (NYC)
