Hello I’m new here and I have a question about caviar leather. I just bought a small CF from the resale market. It’s a 22, I believe from the spring collection. The color is dark green, beautiful, but it feels like plastic. It’s leather bc it smells like leather. It’s also different from my other 2 CF in caviar (black and light beige from 2021). They feel nicer to the touch.
I don’t have a lot of experience with caviar and would like to know if this plastic feel is normal. This is a seasonal color. I got it from Fashionphile so I’m trusting is authentic… It just feels different. I’ll appreciate your feedback!

wow! super pretty. I dont know, but last week I was in Vegas and I got to try on the classic med flap in the 22B new pink. and while the colour was super pretty, the bag felt so light (thats nice) but soooo plastic! I was surprised! I have minis in lambskin and a timeless Clutch (from 2013) in caviar- and I have never had the "plastic" thought. the one I tried last week felt "different". If I loved the colour enough (and i LOVE yours) i dont think it would bother me so much. they must be using a different leather and or a different treatment??
The plasticky feel is actually for a lot of caviar bags I bought my cf in 2018 it feels like that too and my other caviar items from before had a different texture
such a pretty color! if your black and beige flaps are REV (you can tell by whether or not they have edge stitch on it or not), they use a different caviar for it. Seasonal caviar varies more, but in general feels more plasticky
I also have a recent flap that feels plasticky compared to my flap from years ago. It appears to be the case for caviars in the last few years
Thank you for the replies ladies! For a moment it crossed my mind that it may be fake because it is so different than the other caviar bags I own. Im learning now that it’s a common issue. I was really expecting a better leather and feel for what I paid (above retail). I love the color, it’s very hard to find. The condition of the bag is pristine, but I’m thinking about returning it.
Hey Ya'll! So uh... am I crazy or are the 22P classic flaps *smaller* than usual?
I have a vintage M/L CF that I purchased pre-loved in 2010 and a 22P M/L that I purchased from the boutique in Hawall. When I put them side by side the 22P just... looked smaller. I thought at first it was a perception issue since my vintage has edge stitching and my new one doesn't but then I measured it and it's 25cm instead of 25.5cm but per Google / fashionphile that's normal and it's not like I worried about the authenticy of something I bought in the boutique. But it's.... visiblly not as big as my 2010? (My vintage is also slightly larger than 25.5cm???????)
So now I'm trying to figure out if the new bags / seasonal bags are smaller or of there's the posibility that this CF I've been using for 10 years is fake 0_0

The bags are never the exact same size. There’s differences in each bag, even if it’s minor. They’re never exactly the same. The exact size, flap size, chain length, leather, etc. vary, even from the same style.
Purchased this beauty on fashionphile. In love.
