Did anyone seeing this in the US?

Hi!! So I just got my red classic flap… did anyone notice the bag feels kind of plasticy and also has a weird smell? I am so disappointed! I compared to my other bags and the quality is just so off. I’m scared it’s a fake bag!!! Which would be nuts because I bought from a boutique!!
Would love to hear some feedback and if the bag feels less plasticy over time or smell is normal

Unfortunately, that is just a new Chanel quality level .
The last couple of seasons I've been buying flaps, each time there is some "defect" with the bag. The light beige one I got last year was so crooked that I declined it in the store. Thankfully, SA sourced another one from another store, and that one was not crooked but had upturned corners next to the chain holes. The light blue one I posted above from this season is slightly wrinkled on one side.

And all my bags were bought in either a boutique or NM and they were from the latest season at the time.

If you try to return your bag for another one, that one will probably have some other issues IMO.

More plasticy, like you have mentioned here, and soft. I don't own any seasonal just the classic colors and looking to get one. Maybe someone can shade some light.

The REV black and beige caviar classics have a different feel/sturdier caviar finish I believe. In recent years the seasonal classic caviar classics tend to be shinier and softer.

I have not seen any 22P seasonal flaps in person...except the blue/purple iridescent which I have and that feels similar to other iridescent finishes...

I think I posted above here, or some other thread, about the difference in quality from REV vs seasonal flaps. IMO REV are always amazing quality, where seasonal flaps can really really vary. Some are fine, others are just abysmal.

I bought the 21B burgundy CF and I can say that it doesn't feel plastic or soft at all. I own a black cf and the black cf has a less shiny leather then my burgundy but the leather is very stiff which I like.
I went to the boutique yesterday and they got a WOC in black caviar. I touched it and the caviar felt extremely soft and also thin (made in France). I purchased my black WOC in December 2021 and the caviar felt puffy, rather stiff and not thin (made in Italy). Every caviar is different therefore it is difficult to compare. And made in France does not mean that the item is better than made in Italy. It varies. The same item in the same color can have a different caviar as mentioned above. I recommend to decide by yourself if the caviar feels right for you or not. If it does not feel right then let it pass. I don't like a very soft caviar that would be a reason for me to not buy the item.

All the colors lately look off from the pics when I see them so appreciate the intel.

i haven't recvd mine yet but i'll be sure to ask my sa as soon as it arrives. she is very candid and i wont buy it if it's plastic, wonky, or smelly. thx for the heads up.

I noticed something similar with my 21s red cf (included images). It was still in original packaging when I received it and did notice a weird smell when opening it. However, I also noticed that the caviar was shiny so wondered if the smell had to do with a finish that was applied to the leather. It was just my speculation but I never investigated. I loved her too much to return Happy to report that the smell finally faded! Hopefully this helps ease some of your concerns

Wow the perfect red!!!!!! And it’s so puffy still maybe that’s the problem with mine too is that it’s stiff and not puffy like yours and my navy and black ones.
I agree with what people have been saying about REV vs seasonal.

After a long and hard search for the red cardholder with no luck, my sa just texted me with a surprise! I’m going to pick this baby up on Friday. So excited! It’s the chain melody but the woc version.
