They just arrived in Europe (was offered one yesterday but declined) so I assume they should arrive elsewhere as well soon if they haven’t already :)

Hi all, I have a question about deposits. So I’ve made a deposit on a specific bag from 21P with a new-to-me SA to secure a spot and even though the bag has not yet arrived at the store, she has already charged my card. I’ve only been charged before AFTER my bag has arrived and was wondering is this considered “normal”?

Any insight is appreciated as even the deposit is no small amount and especially with the current situation, I’m not sure how long is the norm to wait for a bag before pulling the plug. TIA!

This is completely normal. No worries. I have preordered and prepaid (in full) for a bag in November and waited for 3 weeks for the bag to arrive at the boutique. :P

I am in the same boat as you, unfortunately. I, too, was told to pay upfront the full amount (not deposit) for a bag to secure it. She charged my card immediately back in September, and I am STILL waiting for my bag. As far as my own experience, you are correct: usually my card would not be charged until the bag arrives to the store. This was my first experience paying first, and definitely my last.

It’s not normal to pay ahead at all. Is this at a boutique or with personal shopper.
