This is beautiful. Much more vibrant than the website photo. How does the calfskin wear??? I love the versatile / casual style of the 19s but the lambskin makes me nervous! Hoping calfskin is a bit more durable...?
I just got it last week and haven’t had chance to use it yet; however, it’s definitely more scratch resistant than lambskin. I have a mini cf in lambskin, and I am scare of touching it. One thing to be aware of is that light color bags may show some black spots, which happens to mine. I was told that the porous of the animal skin is not “uniform” and it absorb dye differently. I would like to exchange for another bag but my SA couldn’t locate one for me.

So I’m on the waitlist for a CF (Caramel Brown) in lambskin, I’m #4 at NM. My SA said that they receive bags based off of popularity or want for it, then Chanel makes the bag. Is that true? I don’t know why that sounds so strange to me. I’m based out of California, so maybe a month long wait is normal?

I’m not sure about how chanel does it, but I used to intern at a fashion brand in nyc and the we would send out linesheets of upcoming collections to buyers (department stores like galleries lafayette, online stores like luisaviaroma, etc), and produce based on what the stores order

Right, this is how it would typically work. But brands (not just Chanel, any of them really) can also cancel orders in-between order issue date and delivery date. So let's say that Chanel gets orders for 100 black mini flaps across all stores. They could actually only end up producing 75, decide which stores get the 75, and then just be like "sorry, none for you." to the other ones.

It's not best business practices when you're juggling relationships with stores, but since Chanel is essentially all mono-brand, and is slowly buying back all their wholesale distribution to turn it into leased spaces, they basically can do whatever they want. It keeps product scarce and demand high.

Just received 21p mini square caramel. As many are fascinating about the real color, I did a little comparison to my beige claire, 17b dark beige (online pic not mine), and a few brown family clothing to hopefully help reveal it's true color. The pictures taken are pretty true to color in natural light. To me, it's a lovely dark neutral beige color with ripe and warm feeling. I think lambskin brings out the color better than caviar especially when the lambskin ages.IMG_2250.jpg It seems to go with all the colors, neutral or bold bright. Just don't want to overwhelm with all the pictures. I should receive my M/L classic in the same color soon and will update if they are the same color code.
