This is exactly my dilemma. Both are on trend and I can’t decide whether I prefer the clean lines or the ruffles. I think the celine looks a bit more edgy and more “if you know” which is my preferred style vs logos.

But then seeing @ryrybaby12’s post almost immediately after leaving the store felt like a sign. I’m a sucker for a sign 😂

Eek- you and I are cut from same cloth- I’m a sucker for “quiet luxury” - I got Loewe sneakers for same reason ( except the back) but then also got cream Prada sneakers because something about the clean lines and a pretty gold triangle. Anyway, I love both - the Celine would be pretty in brown or caramel- may need to look for those but I do love the Chanel- the CC are small. I wore them all day at home to break in, and they are also comfy!

Are they creasing much around the toe area? In noticed after one try in the store they looked pretty worn.

Ive also added the Gucci horsebit into the mix 🤦‍♀️ hoping to decide this weekend!

They look a bit snug on you. Loafers are not meant to look snug, but rather, a cool comfortable casual look. My two cents is I also feel Gucci is a bit overplayed at the moment.

If you are open to other brands and want quiet luxury, I'd go for Tods. I love this look and especially the pebbled back heel.
It also gives you the GH Bass look that you seem to like.

Go for loud shoes! I never wear loud logos on my clothing, so I am very quiet luxury on the clothing front.
However, for shoes... I love loud shoes. It's my fashion statement that ties my quiet luxury/no-logo look together.

I vote make a fashion statement with shoes!
I love the polka dot loafers so much, I am hoping Chanel might make them in pale pink with black polka dots.

You sound so fun! I try to be demure at work but out and about is fun to be more flashy. I love it and your post!

I like the Tod’s too. I almost went with those initially but could not leave without the Chanel. I love the pebbled back of Tod’s…have boots from them that are sooo comfy. They are 2 different looks though…Chanel is less penny loafer/GH Bass look and more narrow….i even liked the GH Bass TBH. I mean …it is what they are known for.

I also agree on Gucci….they are overplayed, but they are classics. Depends on what you want really. You can’t go wrong.

Wore for 3 hours today, no creases though I didn’t walk a ton. Will wear to lunch tomorrow but I stand behind this decision…very comfy. I am sure they will crease at some point…. they are leather. All of the, will.

I love this cut. If you look closely at the the polka dot loafers I posted a few posts earlier, it's the exact same shoe, except the ones I bought are polka dots.
My loafers all have creases, so it's probably the way I walk. I walk hard, kind of stomp like a horse!
I actually like creases in shoes... it gives that "lived in, I just toss these shoes on with everything" carefree vibe.

And yes, this style is super comfy! There's a tiny bit of padding compared to my other Chanel loafers, so this pair is like walking on a marshmallow. These did run super large on me though, and I had to size down a full size.

I love your black version; super clean and chic. You are tempting me to get the black too, but I rarely wear black shoes, and I already have several black Chanels flats/loafers that I do not wear often.

The black looks great on you!

Okay long story short, I tried the Gucci and Chanel side by side and I actually see what you mean. Gucci very casual, tried both the Penny style and the jordaan but Chanel came out on top for construction, quality of leather and comfort. Much more polished and formal. Not sure those things are worth the extra $$ but we are where we are

Yes- love them more than Gucci! The skirt you have with the Celine looks pretty! What is it?!

Since my last two shoe “wishes” have come true, I will share my newest shoe wish…:heart:

I wish for a red loafer. However, I wish for it to be a softer look, not a chunky loafer. I wish for it to be like a moccasin driving loafer. It will be a great look that is different than my red ballets.

That’s my latest wish. I hope it comes true.

I am noticing a few more red options in recent collections I guess because red has “come back into fashion” - 23A, 23B and 23K all come to mind for red ballerinas and other types of flats but I haven’t seen red loafers yet. 24A runway featured some red tones so I wouldn’t be surprised if red loafers came out for this collection!

I hope so! I have red ballerinas (all red, no black cap toe) and red thong sandals and love the color.
I'm glad to see red shoes come back; it's a nice pop of color with neutrals or stripes, and I wear a lot of striped tees in the summer.

I haven't checked out 24A yet... I need to... thanks for the tip!

Oh I can imagine the red looks amazing with the stripes - very nautical! Love it!
