I've finally decided I want to purchase a pair of the dad sandals, but I think I missed the boat for summer '22... Does anyone know which season they will begin releasing dad sandals for summer '23? Is it the next cruise collection that releases in November? TY!

Picked up these silver ballet flats yesterday. They were a brand new shipment and I could not resist. This is my first pair of Chanel flats; I have beige and black espadrilles as well which guided me to these over the popular beige black combo.

I go for the classics but am also concerned with looking matronly as I’m in my late 40s and prefer modern styles. What do you think of these? I feel a bit guilty! They are a good fit. Is the silver problematic?

Hi! I am a huge Chanel shoe fan, and that is the only brand I buy. On top of that, I am super huge ballet person and have purchased tons of ballets over the years.

That said...
The silver ballet was my least favorite and least used ballet. I got rid of it. Why?
I felt the metallic got a bit dated looking to me after a couple of seasons. I thought I would love the silver, it's a neutral/goes with everything, but sadly, I did not. You mentioned you are in your late 40s, and I personally feel metallic looks aging. Color is much more happy, fresh, alive, and pops.

If I could have only one ballet, it would be the classic beige/black toe. The second ballet would be the white/black toe, so perfect for summer! I love ballets in colors and have a lot of colors.

I also have the espadrilles in beige, and I feel they are totally different looks. The espadrille is more chunkier summer vibe, and the ballet is more feminine vibe that can go also into fall.

If it were me, I would return the silver and get a color if you don't want the beige or white. That's just me.

By the way, on the beige/black combo... in addition to the ballet and espadrilles, I also have the slingbacs, pumps, and other beige/black combo. That combo is amazing; it's iconic Chanel and goes with everything. It's the style that makes the difference.

I see tons of elegant over 40 ladies in their beige ballet... pure casual elegance.

Just my two cents. It's all preference of course. Hope this helps.

I like the silver, but think it will look most youthful dressed down (Like with frayed denim). I do like metallics but prefer a distressed, aged finish, or semi matte. gunmetal gray or aged darkened gold. Having said that, I bought a pair of light gold ballet slippers that I thought I loved and then never wore. Metallic is tricky.

personally, although I have regretted every beige Claire chanel bag I’ve ever bought (too yellow) , I do love the classic beige and balck cap toe ballet flat (all matte, no patent. no quilting. No fuss). I wear the espadrilles in the summer. And. I have a few pairs of the beige black and a few of a pale blue gray black that I wear for other occasions. I am actually in between sizes, so I have two pairs, half a size apart. The smaller size (older, worn with frayed jeans) is a bit stretched, the larger one (newer, worn with dresses or trousers) a bit more comfy, but I occasionally walk out of them.

JMO though. Everyone is different, and I do like your action pic of them worn on your foot.

ETA: just realized much of what I wrote was already said by @BigAkoya lol
I think I can imagine the silver black with cropped white denim jeans too.

There are still dad sandals in the boutique.

Makes so much sense, thank you!

I want to add that I do sometimes wear orans that are half metallic dark silver orans (they are half dark silver half marron fonce ? , I don’t remember) I think they are not aging bc they are open toe slides.

i also think the silver would be cuter as a sandal

perhaps it’s that I find silver somewhat dated with shiny patent black. kind of 1980s, early 1990s.

i did get rid of the light gold ballet flat, (gave to a friend) but I replaced that with a matte black ballet with light gold scribbles
(that I haven’t actually worn. Come to think of it)

it also occurs to me that my favorite ballet flat is navy grosgrain with a matte gold toe, but again I haven’t worn it in years.

Perhaps TMI, but I struggle a bit with my weight and I wear metallic shoes when I am at the thin side of the spectrum (which is somewhat fleeting lol). I do feel matronly when I am heavier wearing metallic. Not sure why.

Does anyone own these mules? I’m looking for pics of them actually modeled, I can’t find a pic of them ON someone anywhere so I have no reference, and Insta has failed me thus far. (Not in stock at my boutique, unfortunately.)

I have this pic. It’s sort of in a weird angle but hope it helps somewhat.

I love these but have held back b/c of comfort concerns. Glad to hear that you have found them comfy! So, no cutting into the foot near the toe?
No, not at all. I know exactly what you mean by cutting on the side of the toe as I have that problem too (or rubbing against the little toe). These are super comfy for me.

I love this style because while it's still a mule, the look is a bit more elegant.
As this is a new style, surprisingly, I get a lot of compliments and people asking me where I got them.
I hope they come in happy colors in future seasons.
