I heard the same. But this Sa I spoke to told me that some suburban stores are losing Chanel and LV handbags, shoes, rtw. These are the retail stores that was not owned by Chanel. This NM location haven't received any new handbag collections in over two months and they still have merchandise from 2018 and 2019.
SALE UPDATE:
I had one of the earliest appointments on the first day of the private sale in the US.
At the standalone boutique, there were less than 25 pairs of shoes in total for the sale. 5 were in my size and I bought 2 of them. They had no fashion jewelry, scarves, belts, etc. Nothing at all.
I also had one of the earliest appointments at NM. At last year’s sale, they had 4 full racks of RTW with additional items held on the side for VIP clients. This year, there was 1 sale rack which had maybe 8 skirts and 7 tops. I bought a sweatshirt. Super cute but honestly shocked by the low level of inventory at this year’s sale. Will post pics soon.

I was shocked by the low level of inventory too. I did manage to pick up the a-line black skirt that I think our dear 880 chose as well. That was really all that worked from the slim pickings at presale. Wishing everyone good luck in finding some sale treasures you love!

I did manage to get an early appointment this morning. I agree that inventory was low. Not all of the standalone boutiques are hosting the sale. The Wynn in vegas isn’t for example and it’s a huge store. The RTW is slim pickings because all of the hot items (cardigans, sweaters ) were on lottery. My SA put me in for the lottery but I didn’t get selected for any. She did manage to grab a color block cardigan that somehow made it back to the rack, so I got that. I only buy RTW on sale haha - I haven’t “made it” to where I can afford full price!
It’s very competitive in the RTW area. For example, one of the clients cancelled on a long cardigan that they won the lottery for. I tried it on but it was too small for me. Within minutes another SA came for it after I declined. I found that the shoe selection was okay….not as plentiful as last sale’s for sure. There were a lot of boots, loafers, and heels. I think SAs were able to put aside shoes and other non-lottery items for selected customers (those invited to shop the presale). Those items were charged this morning before those customers came for their appointment. Everything is final sale.

Stores cannot pull sale inventory from another store at this time.

Went in to look today, 3.5 short racks of clothes, 1 scarf, 3 pieces of costume jewelry. tried on about 10 pieces, nothing interesting. Very slim pickings compared to last year.
Sale inventory is low everywhere. I didn’t get to go into any boutique as I don’t live near one. Was able to order these mules.
