Congrats to those of you who have managed to score what you’ve been looking for-it’s really like a marathon these days with the time and energy it takes to get what you want! Just thought I’d update here on my experience in London today. I went in looking for the gold dad sandals I posted about a few days ago; seamless experience in Harrods shoes where they had them but contrary to the photo posted they were more pink gold and I just didn’t love them enough to buy them. I was also looking for a bag (small or medium 19 in a neutral colour with gold
hardware on the clasp (not the new reverse). Quickly served by a SA who looked me up and down and immediately said they didn’t have what I was looking for. When I pointed out someone trying what looked similar she conceded to going ‘out back’ to check stock but came back empty handed saying the only options they had that fit my criteria were on hold for wishlist customers. I asked if she could check stock in other stores she said no there’s no point as they can’t hold the item for you so told me to just go and try my luck elsewhere. When I asked if I could be contacted if they receive anything she said they don’t do that. Her advice was to keep coming back every day and I might ‘get lucky’! I got irritated at that point and said I had a day job that would prevent me from doing that and I might just give up with Chanel if it’s going to be this hard to get a bag to which she replied “I’m sure other brands would welcome your custom”! From there went to Sloane Street-no stock but at least they took my number. Maybe someone will call! Selfridges had a 3-4 hour queue and NBS 2 hours so didn’t bother with either of those. Why they can’t tell you before you sign up to the queue whether they’ve got what you want I don’t understand! Anyway at least I ‘saved’ myself some £ today!

Terrible service SAs these days are so cheeky they can think they can speak to customers as they want just because they’re bored of being asked the same question of popular bags they should at least be polite and professional
It’s honestly not enjoyable buying from Chanel anymore. I’m trying to find one last woc to complete my collection and then I think I’m done. Massive queues, lack of stock, SAs lying about stock and offering bags based on whether they like you. I miss being able to walk into the boutique and have SAs enthusiastically check the back room for you or show you multiple options. I went to Harrods on Monday at around 5:30pm and they weren’t taking any more people.. the virtual queue already had 42 people waiting. When did this start happening?? Before this month, the last time I shopped at Chanel was spring 2018. I remember it was hard to find minis but I still managed to get a caviar mini on the day I went in, and there were no queues.
Completely agree I miss chanel back in the days 10 years ago when you can walk in and still have decent service without all these queues and lack of stock
I have my suspicions that most of these SAs are constantly lying about stock. I’ve been through Heathrow twice in the past month and they have a very healthy amount of stock. Classic flaps readily available (I was able to compare sizes in cavier black ghw and make a decision) and minis are readily available and on display too. Makes me wonder how the Heathrow stores have all this stock but their main inner city boutiques don’t.
I think Heathrow probably has more stock of Chanel classic flaps etc because there is no more duty free so there’s less incentive to buy it there unless you really want it and you’re willing to pay the regular full price and also maybe they could be less people travelling through??
 
How hard is it to get a mini Chanel in London for a first time buyer. I went to the new Bond Street store a few weeks ago and I was told there was non. Customer service was so appalling and felt belittled. But I was thinking I really have the money to spend so why treat customers like that. I quickly left the store. I am a bit put off and don’t really wanna go in store. However I really want that bag

I agree you should not feel belittled in a Chanel store in any luxury store for exam for that matter. Don’t let one horrible SA put it off from getting the bag that you want I’m sure if you ask politely you will find a decent SA whos willing to help

Hi! Yes I returned it because apparently my Harrods SA had the bag I wanted all along and despite having contacted Harrods (with your help thank you!) they failed to call me! Two days back from his holiday and the regular black mini rectangular is mine !! This is them side by side!

Aww glad I could help! Yay!!! and you managed to get a classic black mini!!! They're impossible to find at the moment. Lucky you :D x
 
Hi everyone! I'm new here and trying to get hold of a black caviar WOC with gold hardware - I've been emailing Harrods as they sold me my caviar medium flap earlier this year but for the last 3 months they apparently haven't had any stock. Has anyone seen one anywhere in London? Thanks so much in advance!
