Im 5’7, and I reckon buy both the M/L and jumbo. Since jumbo bags are not on trend now, you probably will find a good deal.

The M/L is on the smaller side for me, it’s not a day bag for me as I can’t fit my sunnies, but it’s a good staple and I generally use it at night. I find the double flap really annoying for daytime (like grocery shopping), so it’s probably the least used bag in my collection.

I am in this same dilemna. I feel exactly as you do as plan to own a black jumbo at some point and love the 19. I’ve been waiting for a large black 19 for over a year as there is no boutique where I live. Now that I am about to purchase I am now leaning towards getting the jumbo instead. I’m in my mid 40s and think I might have missed my time for the 19. I love the idea of getting a small 19 in another colour. Good luck with your dilemna. I am not really any help but feel your pain.

I think I'm going to go black caviar jumbo w/ GHW because the price is going to go up this spring and be near $8,000 (which is insane) whereas a seasonal piece like the 19 won't have huge jumps like the classics - I remember it took the boy bag several seasons before they hiked the price of that bag up, and it's still no where near the cost of a classic flap. I'm 34 (soon to be 35) and an attorney so there's part of me that's like - get the classic also for your profession. But I wish I was this cool trendy blogger when really that is not my life LOL! I say do what you like - you are not too old for the 19!! Never too old for anything. Just look at JLo - she's 51 and probably has the 19 :lol:

Ok so I’m a terrible person and went rogue. I went to the store and tried them all on - M/L flap, jumbo and large 19. I couldn’t do it. The jumbo was so bulky and I didn’t love how it looked on me after all. The M/L was too small for an everyday bag. The 19 is so beautiful. So I caved.

The 19 is really a great bag and I use it waaaayy more than my jumbo. Chanel did a great job when designing this beauty!!

No way are you too old for an on trend bag. What do you think you are going to do when you turn 50? Box up all your cute outfits and grab those shapeless elastic waist pants and orthopedic shoes? No way! Get the 19 now if you love it. We are not our parents generation.
My mid-70s aunt is always trying to steal my castoff clothing (I am 42).
