Can someone explain the fervor behind the water bottle to me? Not trying to be sarcastic here, I genuinely don’t get it. Is it one of those things that’s just stunning in person?
I think people are going to use all the merchandise from this collection as display pieces. i.e. use it as a vase or to hold makeup brushes. Not actually use the water bottle, because logo might chip.

agreed with @jsmile - it definitely seems like majority of people are buying it for display/aesthetic purposes -- in terms of the water bottle, i can only speak for myself, but at first when i saw the catalog i was like i'm definitely not getting it, then i saw everyone going crazy over it, and saw how fast it was selling out, i had FOMO and got one LOL :panic: from what i've seen on other posts, i think people just think its really cute to have a chanel capped water bottle haha

Get a third party CC logo stickers for a graphic design shop and slap it onto a water bottle. $10 max for the stickers LOL

I'm trying to resist the mad rush:panic: unless you tell me there's holy water in there that will bring me riches. haha

I see, now it makes more sense. Using the tin can as a makeup brush is an awesome idea. The only thing I’m interested in for this collection is the container that the bath tablets come in…but I don’t take baths…nor do I have a tub.

…I guess the decision is made for me.

LMAO! What a great idea!
I’m also having mild FOMO after seeing the mad dash on IG.

The collection was launched for Chanel No 5's 100th anniversary. Some may see them as just white containers with the CC logo. But I find them more of collectibles. If I am not mistaken, back then, the packaging was somehow like that that's why the collection is just white and black.

I can't make up my mind with these two, should I get them? What are your thoughts?

1. Shower Gel in a Tub - I already bought the one with the tin can and plan to reuse it for cotton balls or something, this one is the same price with the tin can but it is made of card board, I intend to use it as decorative vase with artificial flowers, is it worth it?
2. Mystery Box - It contains a nail file which is cute, small towel which I plan to frame and hang in the bathroom and the hand cream, is it worth it?

i didn’t know the shower gel paint can was made of cardboard, I would be concerned about the longevity of this piece esp if you want to repurpose it. I hate to be a debbie downer but also not sure about the towel given the website description? “towel that unfolds upon contact with water to reveal the N°5 label design.” I question how useful a towel would be that fits in the mystery box, but then again, you could look at it as basically paying for the hand cream and getting some freebies.

I heard they intentionally simplified the design to break away from the luxury feel of the No.5 and reflect a more contemporary aesthetic by creating pieces that resemble everyday household items.

Thank you. I’ve decided to pass on the paint can. But I’m still debating on The Mystery Box. I know its just a towel but I am after the reason behind it - 100th anniversary - and thinking of framing it for the bathroom somewhere. What do you think?

I think it would look cute if you first iron the towel and put it in frame for bathroom wall. Simplicity of black & white & celebrating 100th birthday of my favorite perfume!

I didn’t get the water bottle, felt it didn’t have any drinkable no 5 in it . But I love the rest of items, no 5 cream, shower gel & soap etc.
speaking of black and white esthetic, found this pic of Karl on web, photo credit to the owner.

i was hesitant when i heard about it being cardboard too, because i wanted to put it near a tub, so i was afraid of it being ruined by water - but i saw it today, and its actually really sturdy. my bf and i were squeezing it and it didn’t collapse or dent or anything - hard to explain, but just wanted to clarify that if anyone else was on the fence about it being cardboard
