Chanel Earrings - Question

While we're talking about earrings, has anyone else had quality issues? I know they're meant to be costume jewelry, but I've had two issues now that just seem so unlike Chanel quality.

1) A pair of CC studs inlaid with round rhinestones. I lost a stone during normal wear, and when I tried to have it repaired, the SA at the Miami Chanel told me they no longer repair that style "because so many people have lost stones." Um, doesn't that point to a quality issue?

2) So, I bought a replacement pair of CC studs inlaid with the newer baguette style of stones. When I got them home, I discovered that the posts were bent at an odd angle and appear slightly deformed. I can still wear them, but it bugged me that the quality was clearly subpar.

I have to wonder: what's going on?

I returned my large CC studs with the rhinestones because they said everyone was having problems... I want to get a new pair does anyone know if they have a 2011 edition out yet?

Also one pair of large studs the post bends and the plastic holder is getting loose I keep feeling like they are going to fall out. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Pinkdewy: so happy you were able to get an exchange. I know in Asia it is such a pain to get any sort of $ back or exchanges once you leave the store.

Toujourslauren: in response to your question #1, I had similar incident with my small cc studs with stones. The stones stayed put but it was the Chanel plate that fell off the back of one of the ear ring. The SA said those were a batch of ear rings that were known to have defects. She sent it out and they weren't able to replace the plate but gave me store credit. That took almost 3 months though because she had to send it away. I was so sad because I got those while I was still on Oahu and they were my first pair of Chanel earrings.

Thanks sixela, You are right about it. Definitely no refunds, exchange could be possible provided the item is still with tags or "sold-to" condition. I guess speaking to them in a nice manner and explaining nicely (not demanding/pushy) can sometimes change things. That was what I did. In fact just trying my luck and even surprised I got it done :p

The new ones look fantastic! I'm so glad that you got to do an exchange and that you shared your experience, so that we all can really look out for the position of the pins when we buy Chanel earrings. :D
