Hi, I'm new to CJs.
Just bought my 2nd pair of earrings today.
When I opened the box at home, I realised the pin at the back is strangly located.

The pair I bought last week is like this:

This is the back:

The pin is at the top part whereby when wearing the earring, it sits nicely on the ear lobe.

This is the pair I just bought this afternoon;

The pin is in the middle so when I put it on, the earring sits very high and looks strange.

My question is - Is this the way they make it? Is it normal?
Anyone faced similar kind of problem with me?

I am very upset with the strange design but I don't think Chanel will allow changes for earrings though :tdown:

I have the same earrings with the same question behind my head. But they're too pretty for me to return them ;p I have 2 pairs with the exact same pin position from the same collection.

The consumer rights in Singapore is quite different.
We can't return the goods we have bought if we regretted the purchase. Not even a credit note unless due to special circumstances.
The SA did tell me earrings are not exchangeable due to hygiene purposes.

I'll still try my luck though. Just felt a little angry why did they make the location of the pin so weird!

Ya I agree that singapore exchange/refund(as if we have haha) policy sucks, but I think doesn't matter anywhere earrings usually are non-exchangeable item. Maybe overseas have different policy that they accept exchange/refund?
Unless its real gold, that is a different story. :)

Don't worry about it I am sure the earrings still looks good on you and its pretty!

When we go to jewellers to try on earrings we are given a chance to try it on literally but I realised for Chanel CJs, they only give us a plastic holder to "see" and that's why we can't really gauge accurately.

I think I'll just try my luck. Doesn't make sense for me to "make do with it". SGD280 is still money. I'd rather top up more to buy a pair of earrings which doens't look weird when I wear it.

I did notice that too as I'm planning to get my 1st pair. I think for those ladies if your ear hole piercing sits low on your ear lobe would not be a problem. But for myself, somehow it sits in the middle and earrings would look weird or not nice when the pearl is not dangling from the stud but sits halfway, if you kwim. :p

I just called up the boutique. The nice SA said she will check for me if it's possible to exchange for something else. I did try to make myself accept this but I can't. Hopefully she can come up with something good. Sigh should have gotten the crystal cc with pearl in the 1st place.

The position of the pin is supposed to be like that.. In fact I have another pair which also has the pin that sits at the bottom.. I did ask the SA why's that so and he kinda couldn't answer that too.. But its a gorgeous pair and I still bought the earrings anyway as they look okay on my ears...

Hi Reiko,

Yes I did get to exchange but it was a very special exception as I had explained to the SA that we weren't allowed to try it on properly and therefore I did not realise the position of the pin. They made it very clear to me (repeatedly) that it is only special case and final exchange. Very lucky that I'm able to exchange and just nice they happened to have new collection so I chose a pair of same price and no need to top up.
