Funny you say that, as this was my exact outfit today--cashmere sweater, jeans, and a tweed mini (the deep pink one on the left in the group shot.) Great minds think alike.I've been working from home for so many years now that I totally forgot about dressing for work. The tweed bags would indeed be perfect for work outfits since work outfits tend to use fewer colors (like suits) so that the overall look is more coordinated. The tweed would be a perfect accompaniment to a suit or any dressier outfit.
I do still occasionally go into the office and whenever I do, I enjoy dressing up. It's the only thing I miss about going in.
You know, I'm thinking that the tweeds could look really cute with jeans, flats, and a single-color cashmere sweater. Hmmm.... Wondering if I need to add a tweed bag to my wish list...
Yes, you still have to be aware of color transfer with the light-colored tweed like you would with any light-colored bag (be careful about dark jeans if you haven't washed them enough), but otherwise I have found them more resilient than one might expect. I was a bit concerned originally before I got into tweed. However, I took the plunge and have been happy with the quality!
Also, they are all a little different, each season. Some have a tighter weave and are pretty sturdy. Others have more "fun" 3D elements like pieces of fabric that are meant to stick out and sequins, so you just avoid wearing big rings that might catch on those elements (easy to do.) The sequin one I have has kept its sequins great without any noticeable wear, so I think that bodes well for the cute one you have your eye on as long as you avoid color transfer.
