Celine Trio or Gucci Disco?

I think the Trio is the better looking of the two, but would guess the disco is more functional. Personally, I just don't care for the logo. A couple of others to consider are the Proenza Schouler PS1 Tiny and the Balenciaga Town. I also have a Nina Ricci mini Marche that I really like.

I have a Bal Town and really like it. Was hoping for something a little more structured this time. I think you're right that the Trio looks more elegant (at least if it's not stuffed and bulging), and the Disco may be more functional. Like you, I have doubts about the logo, although the leather is really nice.

I have a Disco and I absolutely adore her! She's so incredibly versatile, lightweight and easy to carry. Holds a lot for such a small bag. I've had mine for almost 2 years and she looks brand new, and I carry her often. Excellent quality and truly a fabulous little crossbody. I don't find the GG's or the tassel to be annoying, I actually think the bag is quite understated.

It's amazing to me how many people have written in on this thread about how much they love their Disco(s)! Not a single person seems to have anything bad to say about this bag -- what a great testament to this little bag!

I went to Saks yesterday and tried on the Disco and others. I think the Trio is going to fall out for two reasons -- it loses its sleekness when full, and on second look, I think having things in three separate compartments will get annoying because I will probably forget what is in which pouch.

I like the Disco but couldn't help wishing it was just a little bit bigger. My wallet isn't big, but I may have to downsize further to a card case to make a bag of that size work. Gonna think on it and try it again next week. It's still in the running for now!

Then I went over to Fendi and tried on the small By The Way bag again and really, really loved it. But it is almost twice as much as the Disco, and the snap on the strap snagged my hair every time I put it on and took it off. Sounds silly, but I can't buy a bag that pulls my hair all the time!

So I'm in a holding pattern for the time being. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

What about the Marni Trunk? Although it has snaps on the strap too...

+1 for the Marni Trunk. I love mine. What about Givenchy? Mini Antigona, mini Lucrezia, Pandora, Pandora box. Lots of cross-body options.

Unfortunately, no where near me sells the Marni bag and I really like to try before I buy. I've looked at the Givenchy bags and some of them are close but not quite, IYKWIM. Love the Pandora but it's too unstructured, and I know I'm in the minority on this, but I've never liked the shape of the Antigona. I'll have to see if I can look at the Lucrezia in person. Thanks for the ideas!

Let us know what you decide! I never cared for the Disco (or anything Gucci, for that matter), but then someone posted the most gorgeous teal Disco. I think it was suede. It was so beautiful that I've been in love ever since!

Glad to hear that you were able to go to Saks and try on the Disco. I have 3 discos and I love using them. The disco can deceivingly fit a lot, and the strap is sturdy. My husband calls it my magic bag, lol. Inside, it can fit my cardholder, a compact wallet, sunnies inside a fabric pouch, hand sanitizer, a pack of tissues, lip balm and keys, plus hubby's sunnies too.:smile1: There is a disco thread (clubhouse) and you can find a lot of information there.

The only con I can think of (which the wearer has control of it, by the way) is that because the bag is lightweight, it can flip over (turn upside down) and the contents will fall. It happened to me once, I didn't zip it close and when I got it from the car (grabbing the strap only and not the body of the bag), everything spilled. Lesson learned, haha. Again, it's something you can control and just be mindful.

I also considered the trio before. I wasn't able to try it in store though.

I really liked the small by the way when I tried it on. The size was perfect but I also had an issue with the strap. Because the strap is adjustable, the look of the exposed snaps bothered me a lot so I didn't proceed with the purchase.

Good luck with your decision. Are you looking for a specific color? Can you hold out for a sale (spring and fall)? I was fortunate enough to purchase 2 of my discos on sale and the other one I purchased from the outlet store. Hth:smile1:!

Did you buy it? The suede colors are so pretty, but I'd ruin it in the rain and snow.

Like you, Gucci hasn't appealed to me until this bag. I know the quality is top notch and they use great leather, just haven't seen a style that I've liked enough to buy.

I saw the pic of your discos in the Disco thread -- they are gorgeous, especially the red! If I get one it will probably get black for ultimate versatility.

I hear you on the Fendi By the Way strap. In addition to grabbing and pulling my hair, I also didn't love the fact that at its longest, there was only one strap holding it together. The snaps seem pretty strong, but it was a worry I didn't want to have to live with.

Speaking of Fendi, I'm probably gonna try on the mini Peekaboo as well -- totally different price point, but it doesn't cost anything to look! :p

That's interesting. Why do you think you use the disco more? Is it easier to use than the Trio? Like you, I like the clean look of the Trio, but as I'm thinking about it, I wonder if just having one zipper rather than 3 will make more sense... :thinkin:[/QUOTE]

I think so, with the one zip, less places to look for things and handy pocket for phone. Also, as others have said, you can pack it with things and still does not look bulky. I think it is one of the most functional bags I have, I seem to be carrying it more and more recently.
