Love the mirrored reflective podiums and all the rainbow hues it reflects.

Celine becomes the most fast forward high-fashion boutique in Jakarta. When other boutiques still present the sale and Christmas-themed window display, Celine already puts the cruise collection theme on its display. 'Ruins' of a building and image of tropical plants become the perfect background for the Celine Cruise 2012 collection. What I like best is the flower print skirt I put on this post. This is the most beautiful skirt I ever see.

Designed to uphold the “respect for fine craftsmanship, rare raw materials, research and innovation the house is known for”, Céline’s latest store on London’s Mount Street features parquetry marble floors (comprising twelve different stone variations), a pebblecrete small leather goods bar, ceramic pots sporting fiddle leaf figs and interior walls clad in clear grey marmorino plaster. The ceilings are rendered with raw concrete and covered with geometric suspended LED light boxes that automatically dim and brighten depending on the time of day. The space is littered with an assortment of commissioned objects and sculptural furniture pieces by Danish artist FOS, aka Thomas Poulsen who is represented by Philo’s art-dealer husband Max Wigram. This more tactile approach will be extended to new store openings in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and Dallas over the next couple of years.

It's breathtakingly beautiful! I left London the day the store opened. I regret not leaving a few days leather. Look at all the goodies there! I thought the selection at Harrods was impressive, it's nothing compared to this :p

the main problem with these gorgeous pictures is now I'm lusting over old times that are no longer available at all.

the floor in the new London store is breathtaking. I can't stop coming back to look at those pics.

The new shop in 53 Avenue Montaigne, Paris will open on April 28th.

I did a little research and found photos of the floor... and stairs - hah! It seems that the design of the new parisian store will be more reduced than newly opened one in Mount St, London.

A shot of the crumbled marble at Budra in Italy

It was Budra who created the floor at Céline in London.

Quite off the radar even to the most knowledgable of designers is Budra, a marble company based in Mirandola, Northern Italy. Last May the Emilia Earthquake caused enormous damage to the region, and to the companies stock of marble slabs, and most precious stones in their warehouse.

The creative generosity of Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola saved the company from a devastating turn of events, by creating the Earthquake 5.9 collection. A collection of furniture and coverings in marble and onyx, created using hundreds of fragments of quake-struck slabs to create something beautiful, injecting life back into something that had been totally destroyed in the space of a few seconds.

The 3,240 square-foot unit marks a key milestone for London-based Phoebe Philo the Creative Director at Céline.

The new Mount Street flagship, formerly a bank, is located across the street from stores including Balenciaga, RRL Ralph Lauren and Christian Louboutin, and its back windows overlook the tranquil Mount Street Gardens and the Church of the Immaculate Conception. The facade is made of Portland stone, with big windows framed by dark brown iroko wood.

Inside, the store has the feel of an exotic island. Floors are an elegant patchwork of 6,000 strips and squares of marble, onyx and glass in colors such as russet, midnight blue, emerald and yellow, while ceilings the color and texture of bumpy concrete are partly covered with delicate light boxes. The space, which Philo had a big role in helping to create, is divided by curving Venetian plaster walls that encourage shoppers to take a journey into areas dedicated to ready-to-wear, footwear and leather accessories. The building’s original steel girders remain, painted black for a dash of industrial chic. The store also features some traditional Céline staples, such as the chunky marble and onyx cubes for merchandise displays and the travertine shelving on the walls.

Céline ended 2013 with 83 directly operated stores, a far cry from the nearly 105 locations there were when Philo and Gobbetti initiated their rejuvenation drive and weeded out 35 doors.

Among scheduled openings are a 6,500-square-foot flagship on Avenue Montaigne in Paris on April 28th; a 7,000 square-foot unit with 90 feet of frontage on Omotesando in Tokyo, slated to open May 31, and a 5,900-square-foot location at IFS in Chengdu, one of the richest and fastest-growing cities in China, targeted for April 6. A 4,300 square-foot store in Crystals in Las Vegas opening May 14 and another on Wooster Street in New York’s SoHo district, budgeted for late August, telegraph that the brand is ready to ramp up expansion in America, which Gobbetti characterized as having strong potential for Céline.
