^^^ I can promise you that should Heidi Montag darken my door at this moment, I would without shame openly and unreservedly point and laugh at those shoes.

Oh, don't tempt me. I could so totally top that.... :p

Just wait till I finish my word-dump about living under apartheit.

So you were accused of hailing from not one, but TWO proud traditions that were producing art and astronomy at a time when the forebears of your taunters were painting their faces blue and wearing untanned skins?

That does not change my opinion of Heidi's shoes one bit.

Hahahhaa!! I don't give a rats ass about her shoes, thats a choice she so could have not made!! LOL!!

The two names I was called, among others, were used in such a vicious way you would'nt belive,I am neither Aisian or Indian in origin,I am 100% white (with a Scilian Great granny) And it was part of my appearance I had no control over that was used to degrade me in a disgusting a narrow minded racist manner.I did'nt think of that at the time,I just wondered why I was despised so much, race for me did'nt come into it,it was just the fact I was ostracised for looking different.I think thats what gets to me on threads like this??

Well maybe I am missing something somewhere, I am just not seeing the same thing, what you are talking about is racism and bullying, here people are just poking fun at movie stars, (well, I guess Heidi isn't technically a movie star, but she has said she plans to win an Oscar).

As for your schoolyard bullies, their intentions may have been racist, but it is in no way degrading for someone to suggest you look either South Asian or Chinese, no matter where your ancestors came from. Someone could easily say such a thing and mean it as a compliment, which it would be.

If they are intending it as an insult, I would compare it to people using the word "gay" with derogatory intentions. It is not an insult to say someone is gay, and such "insults" do not insult their intended targets at all, but make their hurlers sound even stupider than they usually do.

Anyway, this thread is about people who have a whole lot of resources at their disposal for enhancing their appearance, who spend huge amounts of money to look a certain way.

Maybe it just has to do with differences in perception with regard to just how much of their "look" has to do with nature versus how much of that look comes with its own two minutes of rolling credits.

I have said elsewhere, most recently in the Flavor of Love 3 thread, I think, that I do not personally feel comfortable commenting on people's actual physical characteristics, although in that case I finally did so, because I had become convinced that the feature in question was indeed a fashion choice, albeit a most unflattering one, to say the least.

I do not, however, extend that so far as to be averse to stating my opinion that one person is more or less beautiful than another. It is not going to hurt their feelings. Money cannot buy everything, but I am sure that should it be needed, it could buy Aishwarya Rai all the comfort she needs to recover from learning that I think Madhuri is "prettier."

Come to think of it, I kind of wish somebody would point this thread out to MaryCa$hley. I could un-hit both of their little twin heads with the ugly stick in less than an an hour, they wouldn't have to bring anything but foundation. Everything else, I have in plastic shoeboxes under my bathroom sink.

(I would, of course, expect a suitable honorarium...)

Gee freakin whiz, I agree with Jahapson and Shimma....dang, the thread was done in fun....when I don't agree with the direction a thread is taking, I just leave it...If it's a topic I don't like, I leave it....

Why does something so simple have to be taken to the extreme....Dang

And yes Prada, I agree, they are all not too cute.

Unfortunately, not all people are pretty, attractive, or whatever you want to call it...some TRULY are just UGLY!...hence why people get plastic surgery...

Exactly WHO is this woman? She looks a little bit like the actress from the movie "Carrie".

Good gracious me !!! These are celebrities, people ! This was all posted on TMZ quotes and all, that's why I posted the link. If you dont think its cool then leave the thread.

Lighten up life is too short...seriously !

Is TMZ crazy? Helen Hunt does not belong on this list. I think she's gorgeous. I love the fact that she has an unconventional look and isn't riddled with botox like every other female celeb her age out there. Also she's an extremely talented actress. I wish she'd do more movies.

Are you asking about Phoebe Price? AKA chicken cutlets as to how the bloggers refer to her .....She filed a lawsuit against Chanel:okay: unless they have issued an apology. I think she had cheek implants hence her nickname. If this isn't the person in question, pardon the post:graucho:

I agree people need to lighten up and why are some getting personal here? So back on subject where he hell is Tori Spelling? She needs to be on this thread, I'll keep thinking of other uglies. Oh, I hope I don't offend anyone.

I am confused here. So being implied that your looks may resemble that of a South Asian or East Asian is a horrible thing? Being taunted for looking different is one thing, but it seems to me (correct me if I am wrong), that the reason you took it so hard was because you were called "chink" and "paki," not because people called you ugly. Granted, those terms are derogatory per se, but I am sensing that you would still have been insulted even if the terms were not derogatory per se (i.e. "you look Chinese" or "You can be a Pakistani.")

I don't want to misunderstand you or minimize your childhood pain, but that's the vibe I am getting from your post.

I think we tend to be a bit too harsh with some of these people. Sure - they're celebs and they put themselves in front of the camera, but I think we are a little too critical sometimes.

Now, if somebody was saying that they were the most beautiful woman in the world and they obviously weren't then we could do some bashing - but I am not Cindy Crawford so I don't think I can be too harsh on these people for not being perfect.

If everybody had surgery to 'correct' their imperfections the whole world would look like Stepford Wives.
